I'm writing my headcanons for when Ash surprises Eiji in Japan because I am trying to cope-
First stage of greif... denial
The way he surprised Eiji pretty much just shook him to the core
Lets start from the beginning, Ash took the flight, and headed to Japan, WITHOUT TELLING HIM!!!
He told his men obviously, and all of his friends, and they were practically shoving him into the airport when they heard about it.
"What are you waiting for?! GO!!"
Stuff was pretty peaceful after Dino's death and everything else, so Ash wasn't really needed.
Eiji probably goes to college since he's 19. So everyone at his school was just asking about how his trip to America went.
Eiji didn't tell them about the whole ordeal though. No matter how badly he wanted them too.
Then one day, lo and behold: "Class, we have a new transfer student-.
At first Eiji was like "Huh... that name's kinda familiar"
But then Ash came in (looking gorgeous and all the girls just sparkling at him while the other boys were... more or less the same.) His green eyes perfectly set in Eiji
He greeted everyone in perfect japanese (he learned the basics before comming here)(200 IQ)
Eiji full on stood up from his seat in shock! The bang of his chair and table can be heard 4 classrooms down.
"How have you been? Oni-chan~" (I'm sure you all know where that came from)
Everyone was hella shook and confused after hearing him call Eiji oni-chan.
Eiji couldn't care less about what the class thinks now. He's standing there shaking, trembling, crying.
He ran out of his seat and just launched at Ash wailing like a child.
Mid rib-crushing hug Eiji might've accidentally hurt the stab wound on his side
He's just crying in his arms about how much he missed him and how worried he was about him and how he should've called.
====(anyways, other things)=====
Anyways, obviously he was very popular.
But he was quite surprised, no matter how many admirers he knew he had boy guys and girls, non of them really came at him.
He was so used to almost getting raped by just walking down a quiet road. And yet around a crowd of admirers, no one even touched him.
Eiji was HYPED!! Showing him around campus and catching up on what happened.
Also he was surprised that Ash used his real name. It's so weird to heard everyone call him Aslan or Callenreese-san since japanese people use last names.
Eiji still calls him Ask though.
Rumors spread about those two dating but neither of them really cared. Obviously Eiji insisted that Ash stay at his place so that means introducing him to his family.
Some people decided to do research on him online to see if he was an american model or something like that. Imagine the shock when they found that article about how Ash is a criminal, and is supposed to be dead.
The atmosphere around school changed after that.
When asked about Ash would just brush it off and say it was fake news (after all he is alive-)
Obviously he got bullied (and he kicked their asses) and admired.
His past was a total mystery to everyone.
Imagine people seeing all of his scars (during swimming P.E. if he they had that)(he'd probably call in sick if they had swimming P.E. though)
Imagine him and a new friend group with Eiji going to a carnival and just winning off the biggest prizes at the shooting booths.
Imagine him encountering a food shop robbery and just KICKING THE ROBBER'S ASS!!! (In front of his friends of course.)
Getting offered modeling jobs by people scouting him out.
Imagine them getting mugged and Ash just puts a bullet in their heads with ease and with their own guns. But he gets hurt in the process.
The friends call the police while Eiji is adressing his wounds in a quieter place, saying something like "this reminds me of the old days"
Once close enough with said new group of friends he tells them his stories. But when they were "Nah that's not true, that only happens in movies". He shows him his scars...
He's actually kinda happy about that. Being able to look at his scars... and smile at how far he's come.
