But like, what if instead of creating OCs for this fic I'm writing where Blaine is studying abroad in England, what if I just steal a bunch of Hollyoaks characters? Who's gonna fight me if I decide that Dodger and Texas and Ashe and Barney are all actually Seblaine's besties? Who doesnt want to see psych student Ashe Kane psychoanalysing Sebastian and Blaine and all of their tension? Or bisexual disaster Dodger Savage who definitely didn't fuck Sebastian the first night they met *wink wink*. And Barney's just there because I think we need someone genuinely wholesome around and Texas and Dodger are just a package deal in my head.
if u could resurrect 3 HO characters who would they be?
oooh good question, anon!
1. Callum Kane. Or Ash. I’ll take either of them (Ash would make more sense since she could reconnect with Dodger — if they hadn’t killed Robbie, Callum would’ve been his connection :( — Robbie is my bonus wish <3)
2. Rhys Ashworth. I didn’t like him towards the end, but man did I love him and Jacqui :(
3. Amy Barnes. She shouldn’t have died!!
Why did Callum and Ash have to die :(
It breaks my heart, they should have lived :( They were so young as well, and to die so close together was just painful. Ash didn't even get the chance to find out Callum was dead or vice versa. The Kanes were such a good, interesting family :(
I miss Callum and Ash :(
Me too, anon :( I'm getting close to their deaths in my rewatch and it's gonna make me so sad :(
God, Ash was more supportive to him (through all the stuff with Anna) than most of his family ever have been. That's depressing.
I do wonder if early on, part of it was him only being willing to open up to those outside his family. With his family he felt obligated to be the strong one. We know he helped provide for them financially. He was very protective of Liberty. But they certainly didn't try very hard to get him to open up either.
God, I really loved his dynamic with Ash. I do think you're right, and it's more about him feeling more comfortable opening up to people outside of his family because he doesn't have to be strong with them. It sucks, but it does make sense, but I wish his family would at least try a little harder to get him to open up.
Brendan has his first session talking to psychology student Ash, which admittedly is a strange thing for Brendan to agree to, but the enjoyment of this episode is not only due to Brendan pulling a Keyser Soze but revealing a lot more than he intended.
