Looks like your Ashara Dayne post really triggered Ned X Cat shippers. I even got an anon ask from one of them because I ship both Ned X Cat and Ned X Ashara, they wondered how I could ship both of them.

Really? I didn't even tag NedCat, neither tagged Cat to not have such problem. I am pretty sure I tagged "anti NedCat" to be safe. AshaNed is a preference I have, but NedCat is also fine? I mean.

It is okay to like NedCat, but they ended together because of *westerosi politics*, this is not me saying, this is canon, you know? During Robert's Rebellion. Brandon, Lyanna, Benjen.

I dont see how such a thing could happen in a modern AU where all of this is like.... not that important and probably wouldn't happen?

Obviously, you can make an aristocratic AU, or any other way. Everything is free on fanfiction.

But like. In my opinion if Ned could have chosen between Ashara and Cat, he would have chosen Ashara, because he fell for her in the Tourney. He loved her first. Also canonic.

These two couples have compleatly different romantic themes in canon.

NedCat: Slow Burn, Arranged Marriage, strangers-to-friends-lovers and others.

AshaNed: Love at first sight. First crush. Tragic ending. Families at war. Love wasn't enough. Others.

Ned loved Catelyn with all his heart ,and Cat loved Ned with her whole soul. I am not someone who deny that. But this love and attraction was something that have taken years to develop and grow.

AshaNed was something innocent. A first crush that could have turned into something deeper if everything turned out different. If Brandon didn't die, if Lyanna was still alive, if Ashara didn't commit suicide *or faked her death. Book readers know what I mean*

I like the idea of what AshaNed could have been.

Of course the starklings would be really different, but this doesn't make me dislike the couple in any way.

Also, if they dislike AshaNed that much, they should just block the tags and they wouldn't see my post. After all, I tag my posts properly.

Ned//Ashara (AU)

(Au) Three years before the Tourney at Harrenhal his lord father brothered Ned to Lady Ashara Dayne of Starfall, and as the second son and Ashara as the next Lady Ruler of Starfall since her brother, Arthur Dayne, swore his oaths to the King's Guard, Ned had to move to Dorne. He never tought he would find a home in Starfall, where the coldest day of winter is still warmer than the hotter day of summer in Winterfell. Fall in love with Ashara, altought, was faster than a shooting star crossing the night sky. Ned loved her, she loved him and they had a family after the tragedy of Robert's Rebellion. Ned and Ashara adopted Jon Sand, whose the parents will be forever a secret, and they had more three children: Dyanna Dayne, the eldest and heir of Starfall, Rickard Dayne, the second and wildest son, and Arya Dayne, the second daughter and Ned's valient little girl.

First of all, I like to think about prompts to fanfictions. I don't actually am good at writing. I can't just kill my favorite characters like George, but whaterever. When I tought about it, I was trying to imagine how to put Arya in Dorne. We all know she would be good there. I started re-reading about Dorne and its houses in a ASoIaF Wiki, about Edric Dayne and I also read about Ashara Dayne and Ned Stark. Suddenly an idea that I fell in love crossed my mind, because I love the idea of Arya in Dorne, and I loved AshaNed since I heard how Ned fell in love with her. Bonus? Jon is much happier in this AU, because in Dorne the bastards are not bullied just to be a bastard. Sorry to CatNed fans, tought Cat still have Sansa, Robb, Rickon and Bran with Brandon who survived the war! Sooo. Here it is!
