Can you do Keith + his moterbike for the headcanons :D
Of course! ^.^
I’m of the belief that Keith’s hoverbike from the first epwas of alien origin
After all none of the Earth tech we’d seen so far lookedremotely similar
Plus ifhumans had hoverbike technology you’d think that’s what the Garrisoninstructors would’ve taken to chase Keith
If the Blue Lion was hidden on Earth it’s not too much of astretch to think that other alien vehicles have been left/hidden/forgotten herethroughout history
So imagine if you will, Keith who has just left the Garrison
Nothing to call his own but his knife and a small duffel ofclothes and knick-knacks
He can’t go home; doesn’t have one
He can’t think of anyone who would welcome him crashing ontheir couch for an indefinite length of time
(Well, there’s oba-san, but he’s pretty sure she never wants to see him again afterhis last outburst over Shiro)
((He’swrong of course; she’d welcome him with open arms, but Keith is good at convincing himself he’s not wanted))
So he kinda just… wanders
Sticks around the nearby town, sleeping in parks, scroungingfood
But he keeps finding his gaze wandering toward the desert
There’s a pull on his soul
One day he just decides fuck it and heads out
There’s nothing for him in the town anyway
He’s been drilled in basic survival in harsh conditions sohe knows how to survive
He knows which plants are edible and which hold water and heknows how to catch small animals for food
Following that intangible tug he travels on foot deeper anddeeper into the desert
It’s slow going; he can only travel in the morning andevening when it’s cooler
When it gets too hot he finds shelter in caves to wait outthe midday sun
It’s in one of these caves that he finds the hoverbike
He wouldn’t have noticed the cave continued deeper into theearth if there hadn’t been a small breeze coming through the crack
Keith has nothing to lose so of course he decides to squeezethrough the crack to see what’s on the other side
And after a while of wriggling around tight corners andfeeling blindly along narrow corridors he comes to a cavern
It’s dimly lit from sunlight coming through a hole in theceiling and he can just make out the silhouette of something big and metal inthe middle of the room
He’s immediately entranced
It’s sleek and unlike anything he’s ever seen or evendreamed of, and it exudes a sense of power, of wanting to be out in the openair
((If Keith hadn’t been so enraptured by the bike he mighthave noticed the not-quite-human skeleton collapsed in a dim corner of thecavern))
It hums to life at his first touch and Keith snatches hishand away and jumps back, startled
But it just hangs there a few centimeters off the ground, waiting for him
Carefully he gets on and when nothing bad happens he turnshis attention to figuring out the controls
It’s quite intuitive actually and soon he’s managed to do afew laps around the cavern
It seem to run on some kind of repulsor tech and he can’tget more than a couple meters of the ground so leaving through the hole in theceiling isn’t an option
Luckily there’s another exit, wider than the one he camethrough, and after carefully shifting some collapsed rocks he manages to flythe bike right out of there
The bike changes everything
He can cover so much more ground now, and for the first timesince the Garrison, with the wind whipping through his hair and an alien lionwhispering in his mind and sunrise on the horizon, a grin breaks across hisface
His gleeful whoop startles a flock of birds from theirovernight roost
