lumines are a very solitary species, preferring to live alone or with a single partner in as isolated of a location as possible. if they haven’t moved out on their own, it’s not uncommon for lumine parents to abandon their children when they believe they’re old enough to become independent. ananta was... not emotionally ready to become independent at the age their father disappeared, even though they were well above the average age of independence. ana also only has vague memories of their father’s spouse as they left when ana was still a baby, and their father always became melancholic whenever asked about them

ashe’s parents still live in vernrot harbour, and while ashe hasn’t had the time to visit them since he moved away to start university, he does keep in regular contact with them over text. but, after he was turned into a vampire, he’s anxious about meeting with them in person again because he doesn’t know what excuse he can make for not being able to visit during the day...

liiore’s parents and older brother are out travelling, as alasians tend to do. they try to visit him at least once a month, but sometimes they’re simply too far across the galaxy to make it back in time. liiore is fine living on his own, but sometimes he wishes they could stay longer than just a few hours each time, even if their jobs are more important. his parents pay his rent and other bills since he doesn’t have any income of his own outside of unemployment checks
