Hi there! Wow I didn’t actually expect an ask, so thank you 😂

Camelia: If you could visit anywhere, where would you want to go?

I really want to go to Greece, honestly. As a photographer I’ve always been drawn to the architecture there. It’s very bright and full of life, and the weather is awesome to boot. I don’t know if they’re still going through hard times, but I imagine I’d like to visit like... Mama Mia Greece, y’know?

Gladiolus: What is something you hope to do in the next year or two? 

(I immediately thought of my scary boi, I hope that’s what the smiley face was for 😅)

Well, I hope to graduate college with enough knowledge and connects (and hopefully good grades) to be able to start my own freelance photography business!

I also want to move my girlfriend to Canada, but that might take a little longer than a year or two.

Rose: What’s your favorite sound? 

Ooh, I really like this ask! I love the sound of heels on marble floors in high ceilinged rooms so it echoes everywhere.

On that same thought, I also love the sound of tap shoes!

5: What do you wish people knew about you?

I wish people knew that I am so painfully, intensely shy (despite my Tumblr spam) that it is terrifying for me to reach out.  Every time someone DM’s me I smile so big, I can’t even tell you how much it warms my heart. I love talking to people but I have so much trouble even DMing people I know, let alone strangers.  (and these asks?  I also get so so happy when people send them, so thank yooouuu)

14: What’s a secret skill that you have?

Huh, good question. *mulls*  I guess I don’t feel like I have many skills, and I don’t know that any are secret.  I’ve talked on here before about my singing, and I post my writing. I’ve talked about parenting. Hmm.  Maybe…my secret skill is that I am a very fast reader. Is that a skill?  I can read a 400 page novel in less than a day (as I did last weekend).

35: What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?

I want to travel more. I want to see as much of the world as possible.  The main thing holding me back is money. Even when I can afford a trip, I feel like its an irresponsible indulgence.  I hope to get over that since I have three trips I’d like to take next year!

O, Q?

O) What Motivates me to write? 

I’ve no idea? I know that if I couldn’t put pen to paper I would be the less for it. There is a need to write, to day dream, to imagine that I can’t seem to get away from. And trust me there was a period shortly after I graduated and started working where I couldn’t write. didn’t write. It lasted for almost 2 years and it was horrific. I’m doing my best right now to try and cultivate discipline rather than use motivation as the drive for my writing. motivation is such a fickle thing, and it never sticks around for very long. So if I can work on the discipline part and just get to a routine where I’m writing *something* every day, I’ll be fucking laughing. Q) How do you get through writers block ? 

I seem to be almost incapable of writing while bleeding. There seems to be a switch in my head whether it’s hormonal or the dysphoria is at an all time high I’m not sure. But every word feels like shit. Sometimes this feeling happens when I’m in the middle of a chapter and I have to slog through words and smash them into the doc angrily just to be done with things. If I lose the momentum of a chapter that I’m writing, hell even a blog post, I’m screwed. I can’t stop second guessing and I need to find the kernel that gets me going with it. Combating this is generally a key smash for hoping for a miracle.

1, 27, 46 for the Writing Ask?

01: When did you first start writing?

In school when I was a kid, but I never really went anywhere with it, nor did I ever feel my writing was good enough to share. Around here most of the local authors write about mines and small towns, or ships and small towns. It wasn’t fantasy or elves or anything that interested me. And as a young kid I thought that there wouldn’t be any interest around here. So it became something I did privately. This was also in the days before internet and easy sharing of fic, and I’d never heard of fanfiction until I got a computer when I was 22. 

27: Which is your favorite genre to write?

Speculative. Fantasy, sci-fi mainly. I love the unbridled possibilities. 

46: Describe your perfect writing space.

Curled up on my couch with music on and a nice breeze, a mug of tea or a big glass of water nearby and my dog. Problem is that it’s also in front of my tv, and I have to remind myself to flip it over to music and not netflix.

Green tea, Darjeeling?

Green tea: these days I feel most at peace relaxing in my apartment with the doors open and some nice music playing, either reading a book or writing something.

Darjeeling: I’m kind of hobbiless atm. mostly I just read, write, watch shows, and play video games.

12, 21 film ask?

12. A movie that holds a special place in my heart... There are multiple, but the one sticking out most right now is Atlantis. When I was little my brother and I used to watch it all the time and make forts and shit and it was always a good time.21. A film with an amazing soundtrack. Oh man. So many. Gladiator, Interstellar, TiFIOS, Howl’s Moving Castle, LOTR.... So many.
