Johnny is feeling left out due to his being a human. When Van Helsing’s “Monsterfication Ray” goes haywire Johnny turns into a monster while Dracula and his crew become human. Mavis, Johnny, Drac, and the crew race across the globe to find a cure before their transformations become permanent and before they drive each other crazy.

Highlight/s: This franchise exudes so much chaotic energy I have no choice but to stan 😂; the animation takes defying the laws of physics to another level, I love it; Blobby & baby Blobby! 🥲; awesome soundtrack - Macarena saves the day? Obviously.; I want Drac's tropical skull shirt!; the sentient volleyball skhfkshfks; groovy 60s style animation in the credits; Drac's mobile voice assistant lmaoooo.

Lowlight/s: Ancient steampunk Van Helsing is nightmare fuel 😳; the witches ogling Vlad in speedos and Dennis being made uncomfortable by Sunny's romantic interest - can we stop putting this stuff in children's movies PLEASE? The whole 'zing' thing is more than enough already. Kids don't need to be having depictions & ideas of romance/adult experiences worm their way into their brains at such young ages, it's harmful, just let them be children! Besides, as an aroace myself, kids media is my refuge from all that stuff in "grown-up" film/tv 😂 so it really annoys me when I can't even escape it in that safe space.

Will I watch it again? Probably, when it comes time to do a Hotel Transylvania marathon in a few years lol

Dracula Goes on a Cruise in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation Trailer

Gotta agree with Drac, a cruise ship is basically a hotel on the water.

According to Sony Pictures Animation, it’s “smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as the monsters indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monster kind.” 

Hotel Transylvania 3 features the voice talents of Adam Sandler (Dracula), Selena Gomez (Mavis), Andy Samberg (Johnny), David Spade (Griffin), Molly Shannon (Wanda), Steve Buscemi (Wayne), Keegan-Michael Key (Murray), Asher Blinkoff (Dennis), Kevin James (Frankenstein), Fran Drescher (Eunice), and Mel Brooks (Vlad). The third film in the franchise  is once again directed by Genndy Tartakovsky.
