V’ieh and V’ashir both come from a pretty tragic and upsetting backstory. They come from a broke and corrupt society, as some small towns if grown from the wrong intentions can lead to, nearly more like a compound than a community. The hierarchy in her tribal subsection was heavy in patriarchal norms that V’ieh grew to loathe, knowing there was so much more for her out there than either having to take on a trade or be forced into motherhood.

I drew our Earthdawn party's final showdown in the Shattered Pattern campaign! Luckily, we managed to close the summoning circle before the ritual was complete - you don't want Verjigorm to run free...

When your happy-go-lucky Earthdawn character finds out that his long-lost father has been abducted, imprisoned and horror-tainted by Thera for twenty years, became insane, you enter his mind to help him, a giant horror worm engulfs you and you're just fed up with all that shit.

Let's just say that Ashir's day could have gone a lot better. Thanks to @skullchicken for their input regarding the colouring, I learned a lot.

Tea express by Comic-Ray

When @nekromantenhase's Earthdawn character (Mak) joined mine (the thief Ashir), one of the first things she did was to make tea for Ashir.
