Ashfur seeing his fluffy golden apprentice and seeing parts of Squirrel and Bramble in him and not being able to resist him.

Meanwhile lion thinks that's it's cool that an older warrior takes interest in him msmemm (Lionpaw also ignores the times were his mentor with closed eyes call him Squirrelflight bjjsksn).

this is a more basic one buy lionash has too much potential to not be a favorite. I really like either "ashfur groomed lionpaw but now lionblaze is bigger and stronger and has all the power" and "ashfur sees bramblesquirrel's son and can't help but be attracted to him"

Ashfur x Lionpaw/blaze is one of my favorite unhealthy ships. Ashfur deciding to use his position to groom Lionpaw into hating/resenting Squirrelflight and being his loyal second, but he bites off more than he can chew and ends up with a possessive and emotionally unstable beast of a cat as his "mate."

That is a little darkly funny to think about

Ashfur going "Let me lead him on and manipulate this little apprentice as revenge against squir-oh fuck when did he become two times larger then me."

Shifting power dynamic, turns from Ashfur manipulating Lionpaw, to Lionblaze suddenly being part of a goddamn prophecy and having all the social, as well as literal, power in the relationship. Ashfur is stuck in a relationship he doesn't even want out of fear.

Maybe Lion doesn't even realize this

Ashfur goes from this prickly, antagonistic, "lover" that constantly harassed and mocked Lion, to a some meek, miserable looking cat that goes along with whatever Lionblaze says, and Lionblaze legitimately doesn't understand what changed.

Lionblaze: Did you hear that those two RiverClan cats broke up?

Ashfur: Er, no? I don't really listen to Gathering gossip.

Lionblaze: They both seemed so calm about it.

Ashfur: You wouldn't be "calm" about it if we broke up?

Lionblaze: Hah! Like we'd ever break up.

Ashfur: Sure, sure... but just, in theory.

Lionblaze: Well I'd never break up with you, you know that.

Ashfur: But what if I broke up with you?

Lionblaze (deathly serious): You wouldn't.

Ashfur: O-of course not, I'm just... making conversation. How do you think you'd handle it?

Lionblaze: If you broke up with me... it would be like you ripped my heart right out of my chest. I'd have to make you feel that same pain. I'd probably claw your pelt clean off, tear your heart from your chest, and leave your body for crow-food.

Ashfur: O-oh....

*awkward pause*

Lionblaze: Pff, don't look so grim, we both know that'll never happen; we're soulmates! I love you so much.

Ashur: H-heh yeah, you too. (Oh StarClan what did I create...)

Lionblaze turning into a callous, dismissive, overbearing asshole of a mate who doesn't care about Ashfur's feelings at all, explicitly because that's what Ashfur taught him.

Ashfur becomes a mirror of what would have happened to Squirrelflight if she stayed in a relationship with him.

Lionblaze is essentially Ashfur if he was a demigod and got everything he wanted, a mate that will stay with him no matter what

Lionblaze just loves him too much, you know ;)

Obviously if wholesome and healthy ships are the only kind that appeal to you, then you should follow your bliss and pursue those healthy and wholesome ships and curate your fandom space appropriately. But to me, warrior society is set up in such a way that it absolutely enables toxic and unhealthy relationships, and I think that's a fun space to play around in too.

Give me the angsty Lionpaw/blaze who keeps pushing cats away because they try to tell him that Ashfur isn't good for him and doesn't even seem to like him that much. What's the breaking point? How does it end? At what point does Ashfur realize that he fucked up because the little tom he manipulated as a revenge plan is now bigger and stronger than him and kind of scary-obsessed with the relationship, to the point where he's afraid to try and break it off?
