3. what is the meaning behind their name? do they have any nicknames?

ashraqat - brightness, dawned (arabic)

i either call her asha or ashra, sera calls her buckles!

17. where were they born?

i actually don't have that quite worked out yet BUT i read once that markham is the agricultural trade center of the free marches so maybe her parents settled nearby? it's also relatively far from seheron so 🤷🏻

28. are they aware of their strengths?

asha was indeed well aware of her value as a vashoth mage within her group (wrecking colourful elemental havoc could almost be considered an art hahah); there might be things that she doesn't know about herself or the range of her magic yet but she's quite confident in what she already knows

39. what does their happily ever after look like?

she's a woman of simple pleasures, so most likely retiring to a tiny cottage somewhere on the antivan coast 😘

48. Do they have any tattoos? What are the stories behind those tattoos?

she doesn't have any but she likes to paint her face! she does wear a lot of different vitaar (intense rashvine is my personal fav dnfbdb)

54. What is their current hairstyle? What have been some of their past hairstyles? Which was their favorite hairstyle?

she prefers her hair braided, although she could be spotted with a mohawk from the early days with the valo-kas; it happened due to either a dumb dare, an informal initiation or both at the same time!

68. How did their environment growing up affect their personality?

as a mercenary, she came to understand that death is one true constant in the world pretty early on in life. she acted according to that because it was all she knew: as long as she was able to earn bread for her family, she didn't question her orders.

the "kill or be killed" mindset is lost after the events at the conclave, her compassion is no longer dormant and she tries to take care of little people (quite literally) the best she can, as she started out as one of them too.

she shows no empathy for political prisoners however, as they're all forced to taste their own medicine eventually.

78. Who do they consider to be their best friend?

cassandra (i arrived to her friendship cutscenes yesterday and it was quite moving actually?)

even though they don't always agree with each other (mostly about religion + ash is kinda an apostate oopsie 🤷🏻 but again cass isn't a templar either), there is deep mutual respect that stems from female solidarity and they're both quite practical women, they just pursue different goals and direct that energy differently i guess?

also the whole squishy softie on the inside thing. precious.

after constantly being knocked down by wraiths when she's about to finish disrupting the rift, definitely lmao

her right hand is slightly more dominant but she relies on both of them!
