Stay: Ashton
A/n: And another request done! Happy reading folks!
It's late, really late. Which means you're late, really late and that means he's going to be unhappy, really unhappy. However, you can't bring yourself to pull away from Ashton. To get up and go back home to him and leave Ashton behind. You know you have to though, or least that's what you tell yourself when you slide out from under the covers.
"Stay."
He whispers the words at you as you're slipping your shirt back on.
"You know I can't."
He sits up and wraps his arms around your waist, pressing a kiss to your neck.
"You can."
"Ash, I have to go. It's late and he's waiting."
He sighs before throwing himself back on his pillow. His arms cover his face, and you lean over him, tugging on his arm.
"Don't be mad," you say.
"I'm not mad," he says, moving his arm out of your grasp.
"You are," you say.
"I'm not...I thought you had to go," he says.
He kicks the blankets off, before getting up and heading to the bathroom.
"Ash..."
He closes the bathroom door in your face.
"Ashton."
"Just go, Y/n. You said you needed to go, so go. Go back the guy that doesn't love you, that treats you like crap. That isn't there for you when you need him to be. Go back to him and leave the guy that has spent everyday that he's known you trying to give you the world."
"Ashton, you're not being fair."
You hear a scoff come from the other side of the bathroom door before Ashton pulls it open.
"Fair? I'm not being fair? I'm not the one sleeping around."
"And I'm not the one that beg the girl to be with him even though I knew she was in a relationship. You knew what this was when we started Ashton, so don't start pretending anything different. Things haven't changed."
He runs his hand through his hair, growling in frustration.
"But things have changed, Y/n."
"What, Ashton? What has changed?"
"I'm in love with you."
You freeze, of all the things you thought Ashton was going to say this was not one of them.
"What?"
"What's changed is the fact that I'm in love with you. I want us to be together, and I mean really together. Not just we hang out for a bit and then you go back home to him. I want you to stop going home to him, I want you to stay with me."
"Ashton..."
"I know it's a lot, I know I probably have no right to ask but it's what I want. I'm tired of having to take his wrongs and make them right. I love you and I know you love me otherwise you wouldn't still be here, so just...stay."
You're frozen in place, your thoughts going a mile a minute. Ashton loved you, he actually loved you. When was the last time you had heard the words I love you. Certainly not from your boyfriend, but here Ashton was saying it. Saying that he wanted a future with you, that he wanted everything with you...all you had to do was stay. Your boyfriend didn't want that, he told you that he didn't want to think about the future. He just wanted to live in the moment and whenever you asked where he saw himself, he always joked that he was on a beach surrounded by bikini clad girls that weren't you. He made you feel stupid, worthless, like you were wasting his time. Ashton.. Ashton never made you feel like that. Ashton made you feel priceless, loved, like you were worthy of every spare second he had, and if he didn't have one, he would find one. Why would you leave that to go back to being miserable? What were you so worried about? Breaking your boyfriend's heart? He had broken yours a thousand times already. That your boyfriend was right all along? Ashton had disproved every hurtful and hateful thing he had ever said to you. You look at Ashton before taking a deep breath and nodding your head.
"I'll stay."
Ashton who had been looking down at the floor the entire time, quickly looks at you. His mouth breaking out into a smile.
"You're staying?"
You nod again, your own smile making its way across your face.
"I'm staying."
He rushes forward, enveloping you in a hug as you wrap your arms around him. He picks you up, burying his head in your neck.
"I love you," he whispers.
"I love you too."
It's late, really late. But you're happy, really happy. And you're never going back to the life you knew before. The life that had you leaving Ashton behind because now Ashton and your life with him was what was ahead.
