BL vs Queer Media Discourse Point #105

BL is not counter culture like Queer Media is seen in the West. It doesn't have to because we have a thing called multi-culturalism. Everyone is validated. Yes, there are legal and social problems. Thank you colonialism. But Queer Media in the West has had to set itself apart, to be different because the West has a 'One Thing' culture.

I imagine this is a cultural nuance many might miss.

I gotta just comment on this m&m thing. 

let’s not be calling people racist for using a yellow m&m for an asian. Racism is a strong accusation. Even if this is intentional or a bad joke on Steve’s part this IS NOT RACISM.

microaggression? maybe. ignorance? probably. but racism? calm yourselves

And just on a personal level, as someone in the Asian community, I am not offended by Steve’s actions even if it was intentional to use the yellow for James as a joke. The eyes comment and the continued jokes about James’ “camping gear” are more irritating than this by a long shot.

be careful about your words.... we are being very judgmental about what the houseguests say but we should watch our own mouths as well
