This is by far the edgiest thing to have ever graced this channel. And honestly? Despite putting over a hundred hours easily into this, I almost didn't upload it. I got lazy with some of the masking. There's a shot missing the veins because I just wanted to cry at that point. The keyframes on the veins in some shots are wonky. I realized last night that the issue was using an overlay for the veins instead of masking them out.

But in my personal life, I'm trying to learn to let go of shame. It doesn't do me any good, and I'll be damned if I let the world take the things that make me happy away from me. Embracing the philosophy of "good enough" and to stop using a workflow that kills me.

It still blows my mind when a non-subscriber finds one of my videos and decides it’s worth leaving a comment like this. Hearing people appreciate the tempo work makes my day--it’s something that’s lacking in a lot of AMVs. Most videos I upload are a counter thesis to common AMV trends that I see.

These comments also always seem to come up when I’m having a bad day, which makes them a lot better. (You can find the video in question here)

I’m finally doing something that’s been on my mind for years--a remastered version of what I believe to be the best AMV I ever made. Published in 2011, originally under the terrible title of “Rusted by Curiosity” (later shortened to “Curiosity”) it remains the most viewed and liked video on my channel. Possibly because I removed a lot of my other content during a bad bout of depression. I would say at this point it’s about 35% done? I have to redo a lot of masking and layer alignment. A lot of choices about what to recreate and what to change are being made and I’m finding the flow between sections isn’t consistent. I’ll have to figure it out.I’m hoping to be done in the next month or so around work and stuff but we’ll see.
