I am not close to updating yet, but I had to write this announcement ahead of time before posting Chapter 19. I am not kidding when I say that this could potentially be a heavily triggering chapter for some readers and I wanted people to read the warnings now instead of right before reading the chapter.

The warnings in this chapter involve: cold-blooded murder, mass shooting, seizures, graphic descriptions of blood/death, and dark descriptions of mental illness and depression.

Seriously. I can't express this enough. It involves a merciless shooting scene. As I started writing, it took a dark turn I hadn't originally planned for. More tags might be added as I write more, but I wanted to post this now in case any readers who read these warnings don't feel comfortable.

Don't know if you'll be able to answer this but here it goes. Why do people like Tarsem? Don't get me wrong, he's good looking, and must be a good leader if jake chose him. But he only had like 1 minute of screentime in awow and double that in afaa.

With so little screentime and barely any lines, why do people like him? I just want to know what the appeal is.

I think it could be a lot of things!

I won't speak for all Tarsem fans, but overall, I think a common reason is that he reminds us of Tsu'tey. While there isn't any known kinship between the two characters, they look like they could be related, and Tarsem is even wearing the same war paint is Atwow that Tsu'tey wore in the first movie.

For me, personally, he's underrated, especially now that we got a few extra scenes with him in Afaa. He's extremely loyal to the Sully family. Tending to Neytiri, staying by her bedside, volunteering to find her children, etc.

He takes over being Olo'eyktan for Jake, who describes him as being wise beyond his years, so in my mind, Tarsem is a character who has potential (if that makes sense). I can work with that as someone who likes to make up stories of Avatar background characters with little to no info to go off of.

For example: I can see him as being wise beyond his years and loyal to Jake because it's more than likely he was just a kid when the Omatikaya Hometree fell. I can write angsty headcanons that maybe Tarsem lost a lot of people he loved between Hometree and the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains. Maybe he had to learn to grow up fast and now that he's given the role of Olo'eyktan? That's a lot of responsibility put on someone young. Either way, it's enough to get the writing juices flowing for me 😈

I've already written a lot about him in my tsamsiyu ta'em fic with what little info I got, and maybe that's why I love him, cause I got to know him more that way. Hope this answers your question!
