Aside from the Bruiser Brothers, have you guys had any early ideas about the looks and behavior of any future bosses from other episodes??

To be honest, no.

I think only episodes 1, 2, 4 and 6 are supposed to have boss fights at the end, but only Episodes 1 and 4 have definite bosses (the Bruiser Bros and the Cyberdemon to be specific).

As episodes are being finished, we will have time to think about that, but not yet.

Will any doom 2 monsters show up?

Oh my! This question will spoil details, but I guess I just answered your question with that.

Yes, there will be Doom 2 monsters ahead, but not in Episode 1. These were under consideration, but were deemed necessary to expand the character roster without having to resort to other means like the Realm667 Beastiary.

How far are you guys planning on going with fx and stuff? Are there plans to add stuff like shell casings and advanced gore or are you sticking to more vanilla stuff?

The idea is to keep the game the most 1993-esque possible. I guess shell casings are a maybe, but not sure tho.

Decals are in, because Tom said they were needed, and so is line transparency in window “glass”.

As for gore, nothing extra will be added than what is provided by the vanilla IWAD (not counting new monsters, obviously).

Could you make the chain gun a super secret weapon that you can only find once for more options for the player or are you "hell bent" on not having it because it it not in the doom bible. You need to have your own say in the game because if you only follow on doc it can get boring after a while. That is why doom is not an aliens game.

The Doom Bible doesn’t detail a game based on the Aliens franchise, tho, and we have changed some things from it, like removing the lives system.

Besides, we DO have the super secret weapon which you have to do a lot of stuff to unlock, which is the Super Shotgun (an I may include another secret weapon in the future, but not in Episode 1).

Will the starting machine gun use the sprites from the 0.4 or the 0.5 alpha? And if it's the 0.5 sprite, will you adapt the bayonet for it as well?

It’s based on the 0.4 sprite.

I don’t think a Bayonet would be necessary, since the Assault Rifle and the Machinegun are different weapons anyways.

I heard that you got rid of the chain gun. Why did you do this if you did?

Yes, it happened because it was not mentioned anywhere in the Doom Bible, and because having the Machinegun in the game made it redundant.
