Students are reminded that they are expected to provide their own ingredients for the art of potion making here at Hogwarts.

If you feel so entitled as to utilise material stored within the potion-master’s store cupboard, you must first acquire specific written permission from your Professor or Head of House, with a valid reason.

Professor Sharp has asked I also remind some of our newer admissions here, that the unsupervised use of potion making material is strictly prohibited.

Furthermore, there have been reports of such ingredients as Fwooper feathers, going missing from Professor Sharp’s office. I needn’t stress the severity of these accusations, and those responsible are urged to come forward before measures are esculated.

One generally outgrows such informalities rather early. As for Professor Sharp and this Rookwood fellow, I am not aware either man’s paternal status extends such. I would suggest you consult their respective family records should the matter be of concern to you.

I mean , they have a point, have they not? With you being at Hogwarts ALL the time and no one has ever seen your wife? Come on, she has to be… bored…at home.

Really, people are endlessly inventive when discussing the lives of those whose significance far surpasses their own.

Let me put this bluntly.

Marriage, is a contract. An arrangement. An agreement. It exists purely to secure a bloodline and its future. It was hardly intended to regulate and reshape the every idle impulse of man.

However,

A sensible man, understands the difference between obligation, and amusement. And… at times, the two may even intertwine… *ahem* A man of my position, is expected to exercise excellent judgment in all things, you understand.

Besides… a man who cannot maintain order in his own household, has no business attempting to govern elsewhere…

A gentleman's conduct outside of his formal obligations is not a matter for public debate. I for one, enjoy the peace and quiet my office, both at home and at Hogwarts, grants me.
