Set immediately after Garden Party, quarantined as a separate piece because the idea came late.

Lore: The extra "heartbeat" Teodoro senses that's described in-text is actually a real-world phenomenon! It's a microseism primarily detected off the Gulf of Guinea in Africa, registering on seismologist's instruments every twenty-six seconds. This accounts for the pulse "due south" he feels, while the microseism registering from Japan's Aso volcano accounts for the pulse "beneath" him.

Already an accomplished swimmer, Teodoro can hold his breath for several minutes, so the two-point ping helps him navigate underwater. If he can find he way IN to a place, recalling the sensation provided by the pulse ensures he can do the same in reverse.

But as freshly-scrubbed floors begin to dry, sounds of unfettered chaos kick up just beyond the window. Halfway to the door, intent to discover the source of the noise, the source finds him.
