First Date HCs (Kipling)

More often than not, Kipling is the one who initiates the first date, but she expects you to be the one to pick her up.

If she’s had time to prepare, she’ll change out of her work clothes into something softer and looser like a cotton dress. In a new outfit outside of her work environment, she’ll come off a lot more shy than before, but trust that she’s still very much excited for the date

If she’s picking out the date, you can expect her to take you to a place like a botanical garden, a cultural arts festival, an art/historical museum, an aquarium/menagerie – pretty much any place where one can leisurely browse and read info along the way.

She wants to hold hands for most of the date. She’s open to additional touching, but is more responsive to it if it’s somewhere that’s somewhat isolated from the crowds

If you’re browsing a spot that’s unpopulated, she will want to play a little cat and mouse. If she slips away, she fully expects you to chase her. When you catch up to her, use this time wisely. Kip will probably grow bolder with her physical touch and encourage that you do the same.

Kipling likes to compliment her date, but it takes her a while to work up to it. If at any point she says you look cute, that’s a big deal! Otherwise, you can expect her compliments to come through in the way she touches you. Your hair and hands are what she typically fixates on. 

You can also expect a lot of absent-minded touching. For example, if she wants you to pay attention to something specific, she’ll put her hand on your shoulder or squeeze your arm to get your attention. She’s prone to leaning over to get a better look at something. If you’re in the way, she won’t excuse herself. She’ll just press against you, lean across you, hold onto you for support – so if this is something that you want, just get in her way as much as possible.

Yes she will ogle at you when she thinks you’re not looking. But honestly, this isn’t that uncommon. At many points during the date, you can find Kip ogling at the animals, the plants, the art, the historical monuments. Don’t mistake this for boredom or distraction. If she’s daydreaming, then she’s having a good time.

Be ready for some prolonged conversation! Kipling loves to talk and swap stories! Especially if the two of you share similar experiences and interests.

If she sees something that looks really interesting, she’ll ask if you two can go over in that direction, before she just drags you along without waiting for an answer.

Loves trying out new foods whenever she has the chance. She’ll get very bashful if you pick up a sample and offer her a tasting. No matter how coy she acts, she’ll be really into it.

She’s been thinking about kissing you all damn day. You can believe she’s not letting you leave without a smooch. Or five. If you hesitate out of uncertainty, she’ll step it up with the hints or just take it upon herself. If this is the case, don’t worry about disappointing her. Kip likes to initiate!

She won’t push the date any further than this, but if you wanted to stay a little while longer, she would be all for it!

Adepti's Temptation and Osmanthus Wein are definitely in the same continuity, though I consider Sleight of Hand to be separate.

I'm not 100% sure which fic you're referring to in the last but I'm gonna guess it's the pregnancy one I published here and on twitter. I can definitely see it fitting into the Adepti's Temptation continuity, though it's up to everyone to interpret themselves.

At the words “flower market”, Kip’s eyes get wide. And at the words “winter bulbs” they get even wider. She puts down whatever she’s holding, sidles over to Zelda and snakes an arm around hers until their fingers are locked in a cozy waffle embrace.

“Why wait until later?” Kip leans a little into Zelda’s shoulder and gives her hand a squeeze. “Let’s go right now.”

i love reading your stuff so much, i think i am getting into sampo and natasha because of you, i lowkey wish you will get into my rarepair too so i can read something about them in your beautiful and hot style, so is there anyway i can indulge you in shenhe x ayato (shenyato is their ship name i think) lol?

Thank you so much anon! I wasn't out to convert anyone but it's nice to know I've encouraged some new people into enjoying Sampo x Natasha content. I've not been exposed to much Shenhe x Ayato content before, but I guess that's the definition of a rarepair! Unfortunately, I can't guarantee anything because my creative plate is almost always full, but my inboxes are always open for people sharing things that they love with me :)

I really hope we get a IL!Dan Heng companion quest

Samee! I try to stay away from story/content leaks so I can't say if it's planned or not but having a companion quest to tie off the Xianzhou arc would be the icing on the cake.

If there is a IL DH companion quest I hope it answers all my burning questions around timelines, Dan Feng's crimes, that bit about dragon transmutation inheritance... There's so much I need to know more!!!

But also like it would be cute if Dan Heng could just chill in the Astral Expresses parlour in his vidiyadhara form afterwards pls 👉👈
