What exactly is a big bang? I am confused (sorry if this is a silly question). I write but I assume this isn’t an event for that? Is it only for artists?

Hey there, a Big Bang is actually an event for both writers and artists!!

In a traditional Big Bang, an author will begin writing a fic (usually about 10k words? But each event is different) that an artist will claim. This is done through a selection process called claims. Then they work together to have a story and piece of fanart that coexist to enhance each other!!!

We’re a REVERSE Big Bang, which means we do the opposite. So artists create fanart that we arrange in a selection for authors to claim. Then they write a story to go along with the art (typically shorter than a traditional Big Bang).

They’re called big bangs because everyone in the event posts around the same time so it’s a surge of content for a fandom, hence the name!

We accept mood boards, traditional, digital, audio, edits, manips, and any other form of art is welcomed with open arms to our bang!

Just curious, what happens to unclaimed artwork at the end? Do the artists take them back?

Hey there!

For any unclaimed art at the end of claims, artists will be given the choice to post independently or hold off for a future event. If the artist chooses to post independently, we will reblog and add it to our 2022 collection!

Claims are STILL ongoing, with pinch hitter claims starting tonight in just 6 hours!!

We send out the team introductions after claims has finished, whether that be after the 24 hour mark for PH claims OR once all art has been claimed.

Hey. How do I snag art to write for? Will that all be posted?

Hey there!

We’re so excited to have you! We can’t wait to see what you’ll write, but it’s not quite the time to snag an artwork.

Once we have all sign ups close for a phase, artists will submit all their art to us. We as the mod team have already started compiling submitted art into a slide show, and once we have it all, we send it to you!

Authors will have roughly a week to view the art selection and figure out which art numbers they’d like to claim (each artwork is numbered). Then at a special time TBD, the mods will open the claims form for everyone on the day of claims, and authors will submit the form to request their art of choice.

Then we pair you with your artist and voila! A collab is born and you can get to writing!

Hi there. I can’t see this in the FAQs or info pages, so I figure I’ll ask - can we use our MRBB works as a fill for fandom bingo events (if the bingo allows it as well, that is)? Thank you, you guys are doing a great job x

Sadly we do not allow MRBB works to also be fills for other fandom events or bingos, even if the other event allows it. This is because we ask that our fics be unique to our event out of respect to the author or artist you’re working with, as well as the other participants and mods.
