Hi! I'm a new member and don't really understand how things work here. I have two fics posted in AO3. How do I get them to show in the notifications list? Will it be done for me? Do I have to wait a while? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks in advance.
Hi there Nonnie! We post links to users’ new works manually, so it may take them a couple of days to pop up on the blog. We decided to do it this way because there are already feeds out there that immediately advertise new fics, and so this way if there’s a day or two delay between you posting and the link coming up from us, you get a new audience that might not have seen it the day you post. So yay for extra marketing!
Also, we decided to only post member works that are posted after you join the RWG, so if the fics you’re looking for were posted a while back, we won’t post about them here (unless they’re up for recommendation!). Sorry about that, but some of our members have dozens of works and if we posted the old ones too, we’d flood everybody’s dashboard.
If these are older fics, you can send us an ask and we can add them to your author’s page as “featured works.” Or, if they’re new fics and you posted them several days ago, let us know which ones they are and we’ll check and make sure they’re in the queue! We do a lot of the work on this blog manually and we’re still working out some of the kinks in the system, so bear with us as we get everything running smoothly.
