What do you do when you're speaking with an entity with whom you're already familiar- you know their energy, their voice, all that- but you find out that you just made up your last interaction with them? The entity I'm talking about is one I've communicated with several times before, but I was getting an "off" vibe this time around, and asked him to tell me something only he would know. He answered incorrectly, which made me realize that I was imagining that particular interaction.

When dealing with practices that exist almost entirely in your perception without physical evidence I feel that it can be hard not to fill in spaces where you expect input, but aren’t getting it. And, I also find, we often fill in those spaces with what we want, or what we think will be cool. Since you were already interacting with this entity, especially if instances where you reached out an got no response were rare, it seems perfectly natural for your mind to fill in expected blanks. I feel that more spirit workers need to be aware of this possibility for our minds to sock puppet the entities we work with. I don't hear it discussed often, and I think it should be a bigger topic of conversation. It's nothing to be ashamed of, or even really worried about, but something to keep in mind and be aware of so you can identify when it happens like you did, Anon. You did exactly what I would do in this situation. You thought critically, tested the entity when something felt off, and were aware enough of yourself to identify the imaginary interaction for what it was. There's nothing you can do about this interaction that already happened, but you can take steps and train yourself to catch them faster. I suggested this for maladaptive daydreaming, but I’ve found mindfulness exercises to be very helpful here as well, they help me become familiar with my own thought patterns. This makes it easier for me to pick up on something that seems too in line with my own usual thought patterns. Does an entity sound like my internal voice? Do they rarely disagree with me? Always like the same things I like? If I say no to them, do they just roll over? Those would make me question the validity of an entity, whereas one that challenges me or expects me to make compromises in my relationship with them will seem more independent and legitimate. I also strongly recommend being honest and frank with your input methods. The Sight is not foolproof. Use external tools to spot check interactions that that via intuition or metaphysical sense. Preferably ones that are hard to manipulate but have clear cut meanings, such as cards or runes. Hold yourself accountable for your interpretations. Don’t let yourself just pick out the interpretations that you want, consider the whole meaning critically.

I also strongly recommend slowing down. Anyone who’s talked to me much here knows that I’m all about a slow and steady approach, but in a search for instant gratification one is more likely to cut corners and fill in questions and blank spaces with what they want to be true, not with what it actually true. So if an entity doesn't respond right away, that's not a sign of failure or inability on your part. Sometimes it takes awhile for folks to reply to us when we initiate communication with them, and this is true for incorporeal folks to - You can always leave a message for them, and they'll get back to you.

TL;DR Anon, don't feel bad about this one interaction, but take what steps you can to catch future instances that may happen.

R9: Tell me about a character who doesn't like your character. Why don't they like them?

Rom and Meck don't like me for a while. To be fair, I'm real dick to them. On purpose. So that probably has something to do with it.

R10: Is your character a good hugger? Do they like hugs?

I am a terrific hugger! And I enjoy them moderately.

R20: What does your character wish people knew about them?

I wish that they knew that I didn't want to think. If I wanted to talk about my feelings and my past, I wouldn't be focusing on more... *remembers who I'm talking to and how old they are* "physical things". Obviously it's different when I'm online though. It's easier to just be an anonymous voice among the crowd.

17 - What sound always gives them a headache?

Not sure if there's anything that causes me an actual headache, but I don't like the sounds of squishy sounds. I mean, it depends. Deshi once described this sort of monster in his games, a slime? And I just imagine it sounds absolutely disgusting. And on top of that, swords notoriously don't work on it? So I'd probably really hate those things if they existed on Thera. They'd probably sound like someone walking around with a really wet diaper everywhere. Gross. I'm really glad they don't exist.

Something similar is the sound fresh excrement makes when you walk into it. It's just not a sound that makes you think positive thoughts.

21 - What is something that causes them great anxiety?

I guess... wondering what I'll end up doing to mess up my friendship with Deshi. He's my first one, real one anyway, and, my track record's not exactly great for having and maintaining friends. But, you know, it's obvious he needs me, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

39 - Have they ever been accused of something they didn’t do?

Probably, but there's been a lot of stuff I've been accused of that I did do and ended up getting out of it too.

What language would be the easiest for you to learn?

I'm not even sure? There's only one language on Thera and it's basically American English plus or minus a few words, so I guess American English. And after that is whatever's closest to that.

I've heard you have romance languages though, so I'd be interested in learning those. Maybe. Not exactly much of a scholar here. 😅 But I could learn a word or two if it got me laid easier. 😉
