1. What is your degree/favourite subject?

Currently my favourite subjects are physics and english

2. Where are you from?

Australia :) 

3. What motivates you to study?

I study because I want to prove to myself that I can do this, and to prove to all the people who have doubted me, that I am worthy of what I achieve. I study because I know I can do anything I put my mind to 

4. What do you love about yourself?

I love that I am uniquely me, I have my style and my way of doing things- but that is completely okay 

5. What time do you do your best studying?

About half an hour after school finishes (about 3pm) until about 7pm!

6. What is your favourite tv show?

My favourite show is Big Bang Theory, it’s actually what motivated me to study science!

7. Best self care tip for exam season?

Mental health is a priority, if you are feeling overwhelmed- take a break. Do something you like and then come back to the work. Don’t burn out for the sake of one exam

8. Do you listen to music when you study?

Instrumental music and soundtracks, so yep!

9. What is your favourite book?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower or the Great Gatsby 

10. Where do you do your best studying?

Usually at my desk, or at a coffee shop or library- pretty much anywhere but my bed

11. What do you get complimented on often?

generally, my singing or my work ethic

12. Where would you like to live in the future?

maybe just where I am at the moment 

13. How long have you been active on your studyblr?

since January this year 

14. Favourite way to spend study breaks?

look, I don’t really have a favourite way to spend them as most the time I just cry during them

avocado on toast or with some carrots or crackers!

oh goodness i have so many! I absolutely love The Wall by Pink Floyd, but it just depends on what mood I’m in!

I love studying in my bedroom, and also at my local coffee shop

Notebooks! I have soooooo many

It depends, I love hoodies, but also jackets too!

what's your fav thing about aus? mine is how multicultural and diverse it is. I can feel like I'm visiting my mother's motherland without even leaving

Ooo that was a lovely ask! My favourite part is the diversity of both the people and the land. I can drive two hours and get to snow (on cold days), I have the beach, mountains and the lake within a 15 minute drive. I get to meet so many people and listen to their stories and everything. I love that I can connect with so many incredible people both in person and online with things like this! Xxx

1. I like that i’m a bubbly person and i get excited easily, despite other’s making fun of me for it 

2. I like my music taste, i feel like it covers a lot

3. I like that i stand up for what is right and don’t sit back 

4. I like my work ethic, I set goals and work towards them 

5. I like that i’m a unique looking person, that i have curls and freckles and my eyes change colour depending on my emotions and that my skin is very pale. It’s who I am, and some don’t like that- but i’ll just keep being me!

~sleepover ask~ | I've got the next week off school, but I'm worried I'm going to overwork my self and forget to relax. I haven't the slightest clue how to balance things this break, any tips? x

I find that when the biggest thing is to listen to your body. If you’re starting to get tired, or your mind is starting to go off topic- go and do something else! It’s great to be productive, but there are times that we don’t feel up to it. 

We learnt at a study workshop the other day, that you should focus on tasks rather than time. Meaning that you might sit down and complete one page of questions, and make a summary for one topic, then have a break.

It causes you to be more productive, without wasting time saying something like “I’m going to sit down and do an hour of math” and then find after 20 minutes- you’ve done your work and now you’re wasting time forcing yourself to be productive. 

In saying that, I like to set a time that I will not do any more work. This may sound a little confusing with the next part but….

I find the best way to keep a balance of work and relaxing, is to have a ‘reward’ for each task. Three hard task might mean two episodes of a TV show or a movie. But don’t do the rewards during studying. Every time you complete a task, write down the reward on a sheet of paper, and throughout the week- at different times of the day, complete these tasks. 

It sounds a little confusing, but it means that you get to do fun things that aren’t work. And by setting a time to stop for each day (make sure to change it up each day too. So it might be 6pm one day and 3pm the next!) it helps you stop burnout!
