Well, I’m gonna continue to blame @bungodheart for this since they’re volunteering to accept blame, but I’ve made an ask blog for my spidersona on a whim today. I’m not gonna even pretend to put effort into it in hopes that I don’t lose interest. Either way, askbox is open and I’m gonna do some doodles between other things since my brain is sort of feeling checked out today.

if you could move to any country of your choice, which would it be?

DJ: “Hmm... I’m not sure. Part of me, like a lot of Americans, wishes I could just move away from here and start over somewhere ‘better’. But that’s kind of what my ancestors probably thought, too, you know, when they came to America. I’m by no means a nationalist, or ‘patriotic’ in the stereotypical sense. I’m 18, but I read a lot of stuff. And since I’m kind of starting out my job of fighting crime, I’m becoming aware of a lot of different things really quickly. Basically, nowhere is perfect. There’s places that have better rights for their citizens, and there’s places that have worse rights for their citizens. America... is not that great for rights, but it’s better than lots of places. But I kind of want to have hope that someday things will get figured out. It’ll take a lot for America to become something better, especially since it has a horrible addiction to capitalism and we all know how well that’s done us thus far. But I want to have hope. So, I guess my answer to this question is that if I could move to any country of my choice, I wouldn’t, as much as my country frustrates me and pisses me off. I want to stay here to help the good people that are here to get by, and... I don’t know, maybe make something better of a shitty situation.”

if you could create a day to be celebrated e.g. christmas or eid, what would it be and what would it be celebrating?

DJ: “I think that there’s a lot of holidays that focus on togetherness and family, gifts and food, and all of those things are great. But I think that there should be a holiday for introverts and people who don’t like those sorts of things. It could be like... Turtle Day. You spend some time reflecting, you get yourself a nice treat, and maybe you could send your other friends who are celebrating it a present that they can enjoy on their own, like a book or a new shirt, without pressure to return the favor. I think a lot of people would appreciate something like that.”

🌆: do you get homesick easily?

DJ: “Yeah, I think so. I haven’t had to go far from home very often yet, but in the few times I have I miss my family a lot. My moms and my siblings are all great even if we don’t always get along 100% of the time.” Joe: “Wait, when have you had to go away from home?” DJ: “Don’t, uh... worry about it.” Joe: “You know that credit card that Mary gave you was for emergencies, right?” DJ: “I think helping the Teen Titains with the diplomatic efforts with the Atlanteans in the gulf is emergency worthy.” Joe: “YOU GOT TO MEET THE TEEN TI-, YOU WENT TO THE GULF TO-?! DJ YOU NEVER TELL ME ANYTHING!!!”

DJ: “Next question please!!”
