If Elsa got redeemed in the original Frozen, then why can't Hans also get redeemed. Elsa did some very villainous things and almost became a monster when she wanted to murder to two men in cold blood. Hans should also get redeemed just like Elsa did.
You really can’t (or shouldn’t) compare Elsa’s “redemption” with Hans having one too.
Although Elsa did try to hurt the Duke’s guards she was just defending herself. From the beginning Elsa tells them “Stay away” because she knows she can hurt someone with her powers, she doesn’t want to, she’s afraid to do so and she wants to be left alone. It isn’t until they had attacked her that she goes on defense mode, making Elsa go “villainous or evil”. However, when Hans gets there and he tells Elsa “Don’t be the monster they fear you are!” she quickly snaps out of her rage and goes back to “normal”. She realizes what she’s doing that could hurt someone and stops.
When, on the other hand, Hans is completely aware of what leaving freezing Anna alone on a cold room would do to her; completely aware of how to break Elsa by saying “Your sister is dead because of you”; completely aware that holding out a sword and swinging it to someone can kill them; and yet none of this awareness stop him. He realizes what he’s doing could hurt someone and doesn’t stop.
Elsa gets redeemed and accepted back into the kingdom because she fixes the eternal winter that she made. She shows that she can fix what she messed up and she shows that her powers aren’t all bad. She makes something fun and nice for the townspeople after the thaw (the ice ring).
When Hans lied. He lied to the dignitaries that Anna had died and that they had said their wedding vows (basically making himself King). He lied to get into Arendelle’s power. He had really no power to charge Elsa with treason. For lying and cheating, he is the one that would have to be charged with treason.
Because of that you really can’t compare their redemptions-- one is aware and tries to stop it and change when the other doesn’t care and doesn’t stops.
Now, personally, I wouldn’t want Hans to get redeemed because he’s such a good villain! He’s manipulative, abusive, controller, sneaky villain and he’s a person that exists in real life. I feel that if they just gave him a redemption they would ruin the character because where would his villainous characteristics would stand? A character like Hans wouldn’t just change.
