What matters the most, I think, is being honest with your intent, and being honest with who you are. Don’t try to be someone you’re not, even if you think it will make things easier, because believe me... it makes things a lot worse, and a lot more embarrassing.

(I learned that the hard way during my early years, but that’s another story for another time, heh)

Secondly, it’s important to see if the person you are interested in is receptive before doing any big moves. Don’t try force your way through a door when it is better to be welcomed inside, instead.
