On the Jewish subject, I just re-read Vile Village. Do you think the endless list of rules (including the ban on the use of mechanical devices) is a satire on the many rules of Orthodox Judaism and other religions?

I never thought about it; I assumed that the Council of Elders was a parody of bureaucratic structures in general as well as Gated Communities for the rich elderly. But it’s certainly a possibility. “The Bad Beginning” also features criticism on how absurd the literal interpretation of sacred laws can be, and Daniel Handler has made his thoughts on Antonin Scalia abundantly clear.

38: Which director/writer is or was your favorite/least favorite?

Hmm... I really love Carver's episodes, and I loved Sara G. as a writer. as a showrunner I had my issues with her, but as a writer she is amazing. 

60: If you could change just one thing about the series, what would it be? 

It would be a minor thing that they can change without really changing the essence, I'd love them to stop using gender-slurs , as bitch. Just doesn't feel right to me.
