The New Disaster on Social Media
Andy Cohen called Candiace Dillard Bassett a disaster on social media on the last reunion.
This year it’s Mia Thornton who’s the disaster.
Mia’s defence is that it was her social media manager who caused all the mess on Twitter, but I have a really hard time believing that.
Why would a third party claim that Chris Bassett tossed her salad in the kitchen?
I don’t think that Candiace is wrong about Mia either.
Mia’s idea of fixing her behaviour on social media was to not give the women on the show any time, because she’s “too busy”.
That’s not a solution to the issues she has created and it’s not a friendly response. It’s condescending.
I also agree with Candiace and Askale Davis about how Mia use her social-economic status as a weapon.
If you’ve been reading this blog, you know that I’m not that crazy about Mia.
It’s all because of her obnoxious obsession with wealth and being a queen and a boss. But I have soften on her since that post.
Karen Huger and Gizelle Bryant warned Candiace about the possible consequences of her mouth.
According to Karen she and Gizelle goes after each other with a sense of humour, and I get that, but…
She called Gizelle a broken whore and that she had a fiery box! How is that better than “burn in eternal hell”?
But Karen basically told Candiace that if she doesn’t start watching her mean mouth, the women might eventually stop filming with her.
And speaking of mean… I honestly don’t think that Wendy Osefo meant to send Gizelle’s daughter a mean look.
She had just been thrown out of Gizelle’s driveway! But she shouldn’t take that out on a teenager.
I don’t blame Gizelle for having an issue with that look though.
I do feel like Gizelle and Robyn Dixon was body shaming Wendy this season.
They didn’t create the best atmosphere to question Wendy’s transformation by calling her “loose” and say that she lacks substance...
I’ve been Team Wendy this season, but her behaviour on this reunion is tiring me out.
The Curse of the Rude Mouth
Something that bothered me this season was that I really enjoyed Candiace Dillard Bassett.
But it’s so hard to support her when she say the things she does!
Candiace and Mia Thornton was throwing salad and screaming at each other – and Candiace needs to learn how to listen.
All the women tried to tell her that Mia’s mother was a recovering drug addict and what Candiace was saying was hurtful.
Candiace insinuated in the previous episode that waving a finger in other’s faces is triggering.
But Candiace was provoking Mia to respond.
She talked to Mia’s husband Gordon and referred to him as a pimp and his wife as a woe and a hungry bitch…
Mia and Gordon seem to play it off playfully, but that was crazy.
I felt bad for her when she cried and shared her story about her mother.
But when it comes to her focus on money and being a boss, I’m with Askale Davis. Like, we know, Mia.
And poor Chris Bassett was working overtime. He tried to calm Candiace down and do damage control all over the place.
It was really nice when he congratulated Ashley Darby on motherhood.
Ashley confronted him immediately and said that Candiace had called her “wide”.
Chris said that Candiace use a lot of adjectives…
But he was being nice even when he knows that the Darbys don’t like the Bassetts.
Michael Darby was disgraceful at the season finale last season.
He talked disrespectful to Chris when he told him to “get Candiace under control”.
He has called Chris “white trash” and threatened to sue him and sending him to jail for touching him.
Who is more wrong here?
But there actually was a lot of funny moments in this episode, Ashley just had to ruin the GVO by confronting the Bassetts.
And the whole conversation went back to the Winary fight last season.
I actually agree with Candiace when it comes to Ashley’s role in the legal mess that followed the fight.
But it doesn’t seem like she learned anything from the incident with Monique Samuels last year.
The Messy Goddesses Who Lunch
This Goddess Lunch was supposed to be a place of healing, but Gizelle Bryant didn’t care about that.
But I really like Askale Davis! I like her a lot more than Mia Thornton, actually.
When Gizelle asked if Ashley Darby added something when she told Wendy Osefo about the blog, Ashley said that she asked if they were spicing up their sex life.
Askale said that it’s the same as validating the rumors. Exactly!
One thing that made me relieved about the Goddess Lunch was that Robyn Dixon finally got rid of her braids.
Hallelujah!
And as the theme of the lunch was goddesses, there was only a few that gave me goddess vibes.
In my opinion Askale nailed it, Wendy looked gorgeous and I also thought that Robyn actually looked good as a goddess.
Those poor pants on Karen Huger though. They got dragged through that park…
Even though they had just had a bad moment, Ashley and Candiace Dillard Bassett was able to complement each other.
But I didn’t like The Green-Eyed Bandits’ energy at this lunch.
Robyn’s compliment to Wendy didn’t feel genuine.
I don’t know if Wendy’s lack of attention provoked Robyn, but it was very short.
And Gizelle wouldn’t even respect the rules.
She refused to say anything nice about Karen and Wendy, and it was really antagonizing.
If Ashley and Candiace can dig up some compliments for each other, so should Gizelle and Karen.
But Mia’s comments like “look at that healing” was so off-putting. She’s way off on the energy at this lunch.
Candiace confronted Gizelle about the attack at the reunion and Gizelle appeared to be open about what happened with Jamal Bryant.
Sadly, I don’t believe her. I don’t think she knew about the other woman prior to the reunion.
She seemed completely blindsided at the reunion when Monique Samuels attacked her.
It honestly feels like yet another deflection from Gizelle.
And Karen use this “death on Ray” nonsense as an excuse for having an issue with Gizelle.
Mia thought she did something with this lunch, bless her heart for trying.
Introduce a Little Anarchy
I don’t understand why Ashley Darby is dictating how Wendy Osefo is supposed to react?
She just arrived to Interrogation Island, as Askale Davis called it.
She wasn’t around for Gizelle Bryant’s questions the other day, so she can’t dictate how Wendy should receive anything.
And Robyn Dixon must be feeling those 4 shots of whiskey, because she clearly forgot how she acted when Ashley talked about Juan Dixon.
Wendy is understandably upset with Gizelle. Why would Gizelle and Ashley think it was a good idea to bring up the rumors?!
It’s more like a retaliation after Wendy’s attitude at the lunch more than “concern”.
I don’t blame Wendy for reacting the way she did.
Gizelle had body shamed her and attacked her character the day before.
She basically said that she doesn’t have substance anymore.
Wendy’s reaction is a culmination of digs on this trip. Was it a bit much?
Probably, but she’s informing Gizelle that enough is enough.
Gizelle claimed that she asked Wendy out of concern, but she took Robyn to the side to have a private talk about her concerns for her.
I guess we all can see the difference there.
They’re claiming that they don’t believe the rumors, but they keep blaming the rumors for Wendy’s attitude this year.
It was a delight to see Candiace Dillard Bassett confront Ashely about her motives for dropping that bomb.
It was completely unnecessary to throw her out of the house, as she was already leaving.
The fact that she just had to throw her out. Delightful.
But Wendy should be careful before she’s getting comfortable around Karen Huger.
Karen cuddled Wendy in a vulnerable moment, and I loved their moment together.
But the women ridiculed Wendy for her sentiments towards Karen, and they’re not necessary wrong.
Karen trashed Wendy last season!
But I also blame the cottage for the division in the group. What did they expect?
Gizelle, Robyn and Ashley are a little too self-righteous.
And it bothers me that nobody told Gizelle to her face that how she has talked about Wendy is not okay.
