If you want to take your style to the next level invest in accessories. It’s the seasoning to the outfit. How I accessorize, is by treating accessories as layers to an outfit, because great style is all about layers. The more layers you can cohesively bring together the more profound the look. As humans we value effortless complexity. We want things to have depth to them but at the same time look easy to do. In regards to style, it’s easy to think of layers as outerwear pieces complied on top of each other. But I challenge you, to look at it differently. You can start by looking at your accessories as layers. For example, let’s use the basic white short sleeve t-shirt, blue denim jeans, and white sneakers look as the foundation. How do you add layers or accessories to this outfit ? How do you season it? Starting from your head...a hat or even a distinct hairstyle adds a layer.....at your neckline...a necklace adds a layer...Moving to your arms...cuffing the sleeves adds a layer. At your wrist...A watch or bracelets adds a layer...down to your waist line...a belt adds a layer....to your jeans...a cuff at the hem adds a layer...at your ankle a sock or even no sock adds a layer. Just like that we’ve elevated our outfit using the layering concept of accessorizing. Now the key is picking the right pieces and deciding on which or all of these layering options you want to apply to your outfit. #AskAllen #StyleCoach #UpscaleLife
