As defensive as she was she knew her accusation had no ground, though Lamia could be a bit stubborn at times. ”Clearly something happened. What in Hylia’s name happened to my daughter. Last I checked she was still that. My Daughter. Now I see...” with a a choked breath among her semi-irrational anger she stopped and took another glance at Anju. She couldn’t fight like this, not in front of her child. What kind of example was she setting? Anju on the other hand shrunk back, neither party was shouting, however knowing she was the source of an already budding argument she felt awful, a pit in her stomach. “I’m sorry” she sputtered out, her tone so quiet it could easily be missed. Lamia glanced back to Tortus “Do you know what happened?” She managed to get out in a stern but calm tone.
Tortus reached out to hold Anju’s hand. He gave her a smile, hoping it would let her know this wasn’t her fault. She was such a sweet girl... er, boy. Perhaps that should be discussed later. Tortus looked back at Lamia.
“I’m not quite sure how to explain it. All I know is that this is the result of beings I’ve come to call “Faceless”. Others have called them “Grey Mages” or “Grey Ones” However. It seems they just show up and pull terrible pranks... sort of like keatons.”
