Quick Hello

..hello.

I'm not dead, just working a lot. When I'm not working I am uninspired, spending way too much money and watching YouTube videos. Tumblr has been triggering for me lately, due to people and things that I have already done my best to block yet keep seeping through to my dash. I'm not leaving, just found myself on an unplanned hiatus. Writing/posting new blog entries this week, I hope. Lots of back logged stuff from London/Edinburgh. Got to fly, it's 12.17AM and I've to be up in 5.6 hours to set up the Christmas stuff at work. I intend to have wonton soup for lunch. Will review. Ciao xo

you're all doing such a good job it's amazing that you all knew eachother! if i decided to do something like nmtd i could honestly cast one of my friends!

Many cast members were unknown to me (and to my knowledge the Candle Wasters, but I don’t speak for them) when we started this, so it’s quite a nice mix.I’m so proud of my friends for creating this, and I’m so glad it’s taken off - it fills my heart with happiness to see my amazing and talented friends get (a tiny amount of) the attention they are worthy of. They’re all so clever and funny and sweet and I can’t think of better people to do so well.

Cora is a complicated thing. She favours black coffee and speculoos (these things), and is most definitely a secret Harry Potter fan (a Ravenclaw, though she wishes she were a Slytherin). She listens to 'indie'/60s pop/alt musics - Mapei, Vampire Weekend, Lianne La Havas, Fatty Gets A Stylist, The Kinks, Corrinne Bailey Rae, The Strokes, La Roux, etc. She has a cat and a rabbit, and she spends a lot of time with them. They're her favourite companions. She HATES apples. And Doctor Who. She is very intelligent and does extremely well in school, but never wants anyone to know. She was really into High School Musical as a tween, but was very much a secret Zac Efron fangirl (who she still has a poster of of the inside of her closet door). Her dream partner is Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend. The day he followed her on twitter she had a panic attack and thought she was going to die of happiness. She owns no CDs, all of her music is on vinyl or mp3. She has a floor-to-ceiling cupboard filled with books - 1984, Lolita, War & Peace, The 10AM Question, Paper Towns, Fight Club, Look Who's Back, The Kite Runner and all of Douglas Coupland, Virginia Woolf, Nick Hornby, Haruki Murakami, J.D. Salinger (excluding Catcher in the Rye) BIll Bryson, Sylvia Plath, and Kurt Vonnegut's novels, as well as many many modern and traditional classics. Her favourite author overall is Cory Doctorow, and her favourite book is White Noise by Don DeLillo. ..that's a few things, anyway - perhaps further on in the canon I'll post a few more in-depth things about her, but for now I'll just stick to

The NMTD Fan Game #4 (?)

I'm joining in. Next week John and I will video our responses.

Favorite Literary Adaption: Webseries or in general? Cause if in general, then it's hands-down The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but if it's web-series then it's probably LBD or NMTD.

Favorite Original Work: Webseries, I presume, so that would be You Deserve A Drink. Mamrie Hart has my heart.

If you could choose to extend any of the already finished web series, which would you choose and why? Probably LBD, cause that's all I feel I really can choose.

If you could change one thing about canon NMTD so far, what would you change? More D&V shenanigans. LOVE them.

Do you have a classic you would like to see adapted as a web series that hasn’t been yet? Antony & Cleopatra. My favourite Shakespeare play. I'd have to be Cleo.

What have you always wanted to try from Honeydukes? Ice Mice, Fizzing Whizzbees, Sugar Quills, Toothflossing Stringmints, Acid Pops, Crystallised Pineapple - SO MANY. When John and I went to The Making of Harry Potter, they had sugar quills but I didn't buy one because they're basically glorified lollipops. I'd imagined quills made of sugar crystals, with realistic feathers (all made of sugar of course), that'd crunch and dissolve in your mouth like sugar cubes.

Headcanons for NMTD characters’ Hogwarts Houses? Cora is a Ravenclaw, but she's not happy about it. She wanted to be a Slytherin. The Sorting Hat neeeeeearly put her into Slytherin because she has the cunning quality.

What is your favorite show/movie that Whedon has directed? FIREFLY!! Or Buffy.

Do you consider Whedon to be a feminist (or a person who does a good job of perpetuating feminism’s ideals)? I think so. Or the latter at the very least. He summed it up that time he was asked "why do you keep writing such strong female characters?" to which he of course responded with "because you're still asking me that question."

Right now, if you could pick any song to associate with how you feel about what’s happening in the NMTD universe, what song would you choose? I can SO see Hero and Claudio singing Alex & Sierra's Scarecrow together. A. If you could get away with one murder in your lifetime without any legal, social, or emotional repercussions, would you kill someone?No, the only reason I would murder someone would be for what I may consider to be a socially ‘good’ reason, and if there wasn’t going to be any repercussions (namely social), then there wouldn’t be much point. I’d be doing it to improve the world for at least some people, and so it’d just be a waste of time. If I did have to do something, I’d rather force the potential victim to donate their blood to a blood drive so it could have some good use.

G. Would you rather burn or freeze to death?Freeze. I’m an avid Winter fan, because it’s WAY too hot in NZ for my liking, and it’s significantly easier to warm up than it is to cool down. I was in Edinburgh all of last month and it was amazing because their summers are the same (temperature-wise) as Auckland winters. The climate was vair good for me - 10/10, would experience again.

M. If you could have the ability to manipulate matter or energy, which would you choose?Energy. because with correctly placed and channelled energy (and use of differing types), you can manipulate all matter. The reverse cannot be said (to the same degree, anyway).

Hi! Thank you kindly for stumbling across this blog and following it, it means a lot to me, especially as Cora is only a little fragment of the amazing world of NMTD.I have been on tumblr hiatus for almost a year now for reasons, but last night I got a few new followers due to my instagram posts, so I thought I’d bounce back cause y’all are so cute and I want to be friends with ALL OF YOU <3As for Cora and whether she’ll be around more.. maybe, but I don’t know if it’ll be much. She’s rather minor, but I hope I am an exciting enough person that people will still be interested in my internet goings-on (as myself)! Pester the Candle Wasters and maybe, I certainly wouldn’t mind cause it’s a lot of fun :D
