I go into the comments and sort by newest, you can’t comment on a post if OP is deactivated. Sometimes it’s easy and the cutoff will show “2024092” and the most recent comment would be on the 23’rd of September, but other times I’ll sift through reblogs (by comments not tags) to see the most recent reblog directly from OP since it’s just the same logic different method, this is what I use if the blog is too old for comments as well.
On rare occasions I have caught a deactivation the day it’s happened though, and the whole reason I know the date is because I was there lol. On one time in 2024 iirc, I reblogged a post to my main blog and OP’s username updated to deactivated and I legit thought there was some kind of bizarre glitch lmao
