I made an in-character askblog for Lance‘s superhero persona ‘Hail-Raiser’ from my comic Bark & Bite! I’ve been toying with this idea for a while because it’d be a fun thing to do between comic updates. (And with S3 coming up, I might not update for a couple weeks.)

The stuff Lance can answer will change as the story progresses, since he‘ll be learning more things and getting some character growth.  For now it’ll just be him answering questions, but he might have some guests in the future too!

Have you ever tried decorating your body with ice? Like making patterns and such?

Hmmm... actually no, I haven’t.  Not for a long time anyways. I’ll give it a shot and see how that goes.

... I think I’ll need more practice so I don’t look like a frosted bathroom window.

I guess.

I was coerced by my nephew and niece. I don’t actually like Frozen very much, even though everybody thinks I do.  Also for the record, I tried making and wearing the shoes, and ow?  Like damn the cold doesn’t bother me either but get yourself some comfortable footwear Elsa.

what's the best thing about your powers?

My cold drinks never get warm! And I can dig into Bedrock’s cooking faster without burning my mouth. I’m also the undefeated champion of snowball fights.  I’m a man of simple delights.

Is there a superhero or someone in your life who you really admire?

My mother! She’s wonderful.  I love her so much.

My teammates. They’re both so smart and they’re great friends. Bedrock especially, since he helped me during a rough time in my life.

Everybody at the Garrison admired Takashi Shirogane when he was still around.  He was pretty inspiring, especially since he was just a regular human who was cool enough to help arrest AH criminals. That takes some real skill!  But I guess Team Cerberus finally met their match.

What were the puns Iverson had to endure before he accepted Hail-Raiser as your hero name?

Winter is C – wait I have to keep this family friendly, right.  You should have seen the look on Iverson’s face for this one.

If you had to have another superpower other than ice, which one would you want?

The ability to lick metal poles in the winter without my tongue freezing to them because what is the point of ice powers when I can’t do that?!

So how OP are you in a snowball fight? Do you go easy on your opponents? Also I'm sure you make some gorgeous ice/snow sculptures.

I snowball fight to WIN.

And yeah I guess the sculpture things look alright!  Art isn’t my strong suit, but sometimes Bedrock helps me figure out how to build large ice buildings or sculptures that are structurally stable.  He’s really good at that stuff!  Nice design aesthetic too!  Did you know he studied engineering?!  He’s so great!!
