If it was thought that Tavi had important information for whatever reason, or was a traitor, Nihlus wouldn't have the least bit of hesitance in torturing the other turian to get him to talk. He'd probably use more common torture methods, then work his way up to the ones that require more prep time and equipment, only stopping when Tavi squeals.
