HEY HO theres not TOO MUCH to explain, just a vague implication that Jet's eye was violently destroyed in some horrible way!! Maybe a disease! Maybe a wayward projectile! Accidents happen! Sorry I can't give you a TON more detail, this was pretty loosey goosey!!

AHAHAHA I THINK ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME I really struggle with this question actually! Here’s my struggle: FOR: -I like it -its fun -other people like it -it was one of the most productive times of my life artistically AGAINST: -Do I really need to put energy towards sth thats not my own creator-owned work? -Do I really have time to do it again? -if I did it again, it would be a more narrative-driven story that I would try to push a little farther than an askblog, but idk that I want to engage the fandom (and tumblr culture in general) with my highly problematic vision of the universe! -AM I DOING IT BECAUSE IM PASSIONATE ABOUT IT OR BECAUSE I WANT COMPLIMENTS? 

I like to be honest about these asks, but I also feel like the discussion might give the asker a little more hope--lbr it’s probably not happening! If it does, it would be very different! idk. I’m so fucking warmed by the fact that people still think about it at all.

Not the way it is. If I decide to return to it, it’s going to need some serious reconsideration in terms of format, schedule, and thesis. I’m meditating on it now.

Hey! I know this is kind of a weird question, considering it's being asked at this completely random time, and askpoison has been done for quite a while, but I'm extremely interested in how Poison's dreams work exactly, if you don't mind explaining. Like, why doesn't he dream except when it rains? When did this start happening? Or was it always like that? Anyway, thanks, I'd just really like to know.

Party Poison doesn't sleep well! Basically, he never has, it's just his biology to not be able to hit REM sleep. I'm not a doctor or even a sleep scholer, so my science is very loose here, but if you look at sleep stages, Poison spends more of his sparse sleep time in Stages 1-2, getting strictly what he needs to survive of Stages 3-4, and very rarely dipping into REM. A lot of this has to do TOO with the fact that they really CANT sleep too long without being on the look out, and generally you don't get to REM without being asleep for at least 90 straight minutes.

Basically he "dreams" all the time, as all of us do, but he doesn't remember them bc recall happens best from your REM stage. But the sound of rain is one of these soothing things, a lot of white noise to help you mellow out--so if he falls asleep while he can hear it raining, it helps him get longer sleep. As an added bonus, the kind of coverage zonerunners take to keep the rain off them (tarps, buildings, jackets, w/e) is just extra dark, another sleep aid.

Plus, nobody moves around in the dangerous rain, so they don't have to run from anyone.

Essentially, when it rains, he has the opportunity to sleep longer. When he sleeps longer, he's more likely to dream. When he dreams he has nightmares--which only makes it harder to sleep longer all the rest of the time! WHAT A LIFE.

Hey, sorry for bringing up askpoison again- I know you don't post there anymore, but I wanted to know, do you know if any of the band members know about it? Personally, I think it's the best fandom blog because its characterisation is spot on and the minimalistic, Tim Burton-y, apocalyptic drawing style of yours is fantastic, plus your ability to adapt to the death of the author. I think they'd be really impressed if they saw it. Soo, I guess, you're pretty rad and keep posting stuff. Bye. :)

Ahaha, you don't have to apologize for bringing it up! Aside from the age of the art, I'm still really proud of askpoison in a lot of ways. First off, thank you so much for the compliments. ; c ; Honestly, I don't know if any of them have ever seen it. I have a feeling that they see so much, it may have zipped under someone's eyes somewhere, but I certainly haven't gone out of my way to bring it to their attention.

I think everyone kind of digs the idea of one of the guys seeing their work and commenting on its MAD QUALITY and a lot of people get that by way of fan submissions and stuff. But I definitely missed that boat since I came to the game late, live in the asscrack of nowhere, and don't exactly have a cute, summarized handout of the work I've done. BUT my goal at this point is to create my own comic SO RADICAL that the comic readers among them pick it up in a shop someday and be like "wow kids these days are making some great shit" and take like a photo of their comic haul and post it on a picture feed or sth. CAN U IMAGINE

Let's sing it again! Happy holidays, everybody! This little spoof is something I've had in my head since I started askpoison, and this year I wanted to make it happen--in part to get it out, and in part to give some thanks to all the people who came/stayed here from the blog, and to everyone who's read the askpoison stuff posthumously and come by to give me such sweet comments! I promise I'm still working; it's been a REALLY BUSY YEAR! Hopefully you'll be seeing finished products from me very soon. In the mean time, hang on tight! It's going to be a rough winter for everyone, so shore up now and resolve to get through it! EDIT: HAHA I QUEUED THIS UP LAST NIGHT and made a html typo that made my text disappear!! Fixed now, obviously, but feel free to delete this text if you want to reblog without it. u 3 u

do you think you'll ever do anything with askpoison again or is that a dead horse?

Sometimes I fantasize about picking it up again and doing it BETTER, but I'm at a point in my artistic endeavors where I need to be putting my energy into stuff that belongs to me. So basically, the next time I do askpoison is when I'm fifty and I get to pitch a killjoys prequel to Dark Horse because I'm SO LEGIT

It would be really cool if I could do it, but I just can't justify it in my heart right now. :c I'd say it's less a dead horse as much as it's a horse that's not in competition anymore. THAT HORSE CAN STILL ROAM THE FIELDS AND TAKE TODDLERS ON SHORT RIDES, BUT IT'S NOT GONNA BE WINNING ME ANY TROPHIES, SO I NEED TO KEEP MY EYES ON THE PRIZE

Sorry, Tenny, nevermind. I found it. It took a terribly long time for some reason, but I managed. While I was here, I wanted to thank you so much for running the blog as long as you did. I remember being in awe at how much effort you put into every little aspect of it. You were (and still are) a big inspiration to me.

In the first message, this anon was asking if I'd deleted the askpoisonblog bUT THEY FOUND IT also YO ANON, I remember being in awe of how kind and responsive my readers were/are! Thanks so much for enjoying it, and thank you for the kind words here!
