OH HI, HELLO I've been lurking for a while and will probs continue to be pretty chill until I have some shit I can show you guys, but I feel bad that the art tag has laid so DORMANT the last few months! I've been generating out the butt, but not anything super cute and worth viewing--so I've been avoiding tumblr like avoiding a professor whose class you skipped. I PROMISE I'LL BE BACK ON BOARD SOOn I'm actuallyI miss Tumblr as a community quite a bit, so now that my art schedule is starting to hit it's stride, I'm planning to design and implement a social media schedule so that I have alloted time to spend here with you guys! Hey! I know this is kind of a weird question, considering it's being asked at this completely random time, and askpoison has been done for quite a while, but I'm extremely interested in how Poison's dreams work exactly, if you don't mind explaining. Like, why doesn't he dream except when it rains? When did this start happening? Or was it always like that? Anyway, thanks, I'd just really like to know.

Party Poison doesn't sleep well! Basically, he never has, it's just his biology to not be able to hit REM sleep. I'm not a doctor or even a sleep scholer, so my science is very loose here, but if you look at sleep stages, Poison spends more of his sparse sleep time in Stages 1-2, getting strictly what he needs to survive of Stages 3-4, and very rarely dipping into REM. A lot of this has to do TOO with the fact that they really CANT sleep too long without being on the look out, and generally you don't get to REM without being asleep for at least 90 straight minutes.

Basically he "dreams" all the time, as all of us do, but he doesn't remember them bc recall happens best from your REM stage. But the sound of rain is one of these soothing things, a lot of white noise to help you mellow out--so if he falls asleep while he can hear it raining, it helps him get longer sleep. As an added bonus, the kind of coverage zonerunners take to keep the rain off them (tarps, buildings, jackets, w/e) is just extra dark, another sleep aid.

Plus, nobody moves around in the dangerous rain, so they don't have to run from anyone.

Essentially, when it rains, he has the opportunity to sleep longer. When he sleeps longer, he's more likely to dream. When he dreams he has nightmares--which only makes it harder to sleep longer all the rest of the time! WHAT A LIFE.

Hey, sorry for bringing up askpoison again- I know you don't post there anymore, but I wanted to know, do you know if any of the band members know about it? Personally, I think it's the best fandom blog because its characterisation is spot on and the minimalistic, Tim Burton-y, apocalyptic drawing style of yours is fantastic, plus your ability to adapt to the death of the author. I think they'd be really impressed if they saw it. Soo, I guess, you're pretty rad and keep posting stuff. Bye. :)

Ahaha, you don't have to apologize for bringing it up! Aside from the age of the art, I'm still really proud of askpoison in a lot of ways. First off, thank you so much for the compliments. ; c ; Honestly, I don't know if any of them have ever seen it. I have a feeling that they see so much, it may have zipped under someone's eyes somewhere, but I certainly haven't gone out of my way to bring it to their attention.

I think everyone kind of digs the idea of one of the guys seeing their work and commenting on its MAD QUALITY and a lot of people get that by way of fan submissions and stuff. But I definitely missed that boat since I came to the game late, live in the asscrack of nowhere, and don't exactly have a cute, summarized handout of the work I've done. BUT my goal at this point is to create my own comic SO RADICAL that the comic readers among them pick it up in a shop someday and be like "wow kids these days are making some great shit" and take like a photo of their comic haul and post it on a picture feed or sth. CAN U IMAGINE

right okay so pizza hut (i know, i know) recently went totally WACKADOODLE with their pizza options, and I've found what is possibly the best pizza. You can mix and match types of crust, toppings, and like...CRUST DECORATIONS? So what you do is you go on and you get a pizza with: -hand-tossed crust -chicken/pineapple topping -honey/sriracha glaze on the crust -honey/sriracha topping all over This is the best of pizzas, and I stand by it. Go with God.

I wanted to ask what like, religion you think Party and Kobra were growing up. I kinda head a headcanon that PP and KK were raised as Mormons idk I'm lame

in my stuff, they weren't really raised with anything! I think Kobra probably experimented with some watered-down/distorted version of Wicca during his teens, and both of them probably appropriated stuff from everywhere when they moved out into the desert. As kids, I don't think it really mattered much, and Party especially was probably rocked towards atheism after his dad died and mom went the pill way. Kobra, being a little younger, perceived the loss differently, and took longer to process that their father wasn't coming back--but held onto the hope that there was some last ditch entity out there to save them. Party has no such beliefs, and hasn't since he was a preteen.

Pacific Rim! Just watched it again for the firs time in a while this Christmas. IT COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
