Fliers Round 2: Michalis vs Tanith

@askranheroes vs. @caraidean Coin Toss: Michalis flies first

“Michalis sure did show off a dramatic flair in his performance yesterday, but how will he do in today’s obstacles, requiring fine accuracy? Tanith gave off a similar vibe to our own Phila: time to see if they’re both just as practical.”

“You’re right, Lady Tanith does remind me some of Phila. I’ll have to ask our Captain her own thoughts after the match.”

MICHALIS:

First obstacle: Speed tube ; 2pts

Second obstacle: Grab the flags ; 4pts

Michalis holds his hand out and lets go of the reigns. Showing off a bit, his mount weaves and strafes through the little course of snatch-able pegs, and directs Michalis’s hand to every single one! The audience roars in applause for such a confident technique.

Third obstacle: Swinging log dodge ; 1pt

Fourth obstacle: Barrel roll ; MISS

Michalis doesn’t seem to know what ‘Do a PROPER Barrel Roll’ means either. He tugs the riegns and sends his mount in a side spiral flip that is actually an Aileron Roll. No points.

Fifth obstacle: Waterfall gate & landing ; 2pts

Total score: 1.8pt average

“Michalis, are you going out of your way to contradict my commentary? You surprised us yesterday, and now it was the lest tight of the tasks that you managed to fail.”

“Oh my... does no one know what a proper barrel roll is? Captain Phila quizzed me on this for weeks in preparation.”

TANITH:

Lady Tanith, knowing what a barrel roll is, leans in low against her pegasus’ neck as they fly. They turn in a large forward spiral, slowly turning upside down then back upright as they go. The audience cheers for such textbook technique.

Fifth obstacle: Waterfall gate & landing ; 2pts

Total score: 2pt average

“That barrel roll cost Michalis there... And Tanith did not waste that opening. 3 points vs a miss? Emm - how are their overall scores looking?”

“The scores favor Deputy-Commander Tanith. She has flown very well, I think she’ll be heading to the semi-finals!”

Cherche relaxed as she felt Lon’qu’s hands in here hair. It was strange to say the least, normally she didn’t let most people touch her hair. She trusted him though, and figured this would be alright. As she felt the braid drop she turned her head to look back at the swords man and the braid, it was easy to tell she was impressed. “My, you’re good at this, have you done it before?”

Open palms raise in order to communicate the same gesture (or in hopes that this intense individual doesn’t start shooting cactus thorns at him). What certainly came with the job of being a tactician for a foreign realm was meeting all sorts of colorful characters. Ones from different walks of lives. For better or worse were accomplishing their fare amount of feats. Judging from what he had seen of the aloof man, the way he carried himself certainly gave him that impression.
