The joke about repression actually earned a small smile from the professor. He shook his head a little and let the new student think things through. Charles could hear how quickly Alex was shifting thoughts, the emotional levels were like tidal waves with no end in sight.

"How so?" Xavier asked him. "It means you can be your best. Feel your best. You don't have to suffer or be scared to be different, that maybe you can be comfortable in your own skin. If you put the work in." Charles let that sit with the boy. "You don't have to be a hero, but you shouldn't just be getting by either. For now, get to know the school, go to some classes and try to let yourself relax. Come find me if you need help. The library is my favorite, but if you need to let off some steam the gym is nearly indestructible. It's always a work in progress."

There really wasn't a good explanation for him being there at that exact moment in time, at least not a logical one. Thankfully, he was dressed in his street clothes and not in his Flash suit because otherwise he'd really be in trouble right now. "I know, I - -- I can explain later." They just had to get out of there, and QUICK. His hand being taken in Alex's, he followed along. If the other hadn't stumbled upon him, well, he would have just sped off but it was just bad timing. Stumbling as he looked back, he could hear the sirens getting closer and closer and his heart quickened. "I promise I will." He nodded his head before he got down into the drain. Pausing for a moment, Barry waited quietly, listening as the sirens faded into the distance. Letting himself catch his breath, he laid eyes upon Alex and swallowed. "I know that it looked bad, but I was trying to HELP. There was a speedster, another one, not the Flash and he killed those innocent people. I don't know why, he just DID it in front of me." He knew why, but he couldn't say that. "I can't help but think that' it's my fault that I didn't do what he wanted, but I'm just a CSI. I can only do so much."

Flip may be silly by nature, but when she seems particularly off the walls, a portion of that silliness is unnatural. Spending every night scooping Gloom and Nightmare residue out of the minds of slumbering people is taking its toll. She does use Gibble Juice to nullify the effects of the severe depression/anger/sorrow that comes with steeping yourself in humanity's worst thoughts, but it's not enough. Slowly her mind is degrading from it. So if she is a little more manic, try to be patient with her. Her light is going out.

Then again, some days she's just being a goof because she gains sustenance from having fun. Feel free to tell her she's being a butt at that time.

He’d been distant, there was no doubt about that, but when Charles was quiet and distant the whole world had something to fear. The professor had wheeled himself out into the garden for some space and quiet. The faintest smile tugged on his lips when he felt their thoughts approach. He couldn’t fault them for checking on him. “Yes?”

1. Planting new seedlings is always a good feeling. I have a pretty big garden. I’m definitely a nature-core person

2. Playing Animal Crossing with my husband and daughter so we can chase each other with axes like lunatics while the villagers carry on with their lives like it isn’t happening

3. Writing things, though I am hecking behind on everything tumblr-related. Because brain exhaustion. But writing makes me happy. Horror, fluff, melancholy, I love so many writing flavors...

4. Drawing without deadlines. Nonsense usually comes out the best when you don’t tell yourself you HAVE to do this, despite everything I was told back when I was in college for art. Structure is good, but over structuring is garbage for my personality type

Evie was glad that she had jumped at the chance to work a double shift at the diner. Normally it was dead after the dinner rush, and dead meant no tips. But customers had been in and out all night and maybe, just maybe she and Thomas would be able to afford some clothes from the thrift store. She walked up to the newly-claimed table in her section, offering a grin as she said, “My name’s Evie and I’ll be your waitress tonight. What can I start you off with?”
