Been seeing the death note memes floating around and I’ve gotta ask this special what if? Could the FGG solve the Kira case?

Would it be possible for the freelance good guys to capture light and take the death note away from him? Or would they just deal with him by destroying the death note and killing light instead? And that’s with them all dying of “sudden heart attacks” if light figures them out first.

I'm actually clueless about Death Note, so I can't answer this one. But I know there's gotta be some Death Note fans following this blog, so any experts wanna chime in?
