In which I talk about Quantum Leap and signs related to QL. Rough transcript below the cut:

This is my vlog for the show Quantum Leap. I’ll be talking about the sign for the show, name signs for the characters, and what the characters’ signing styles would be like.

The canon sign for Quantum Leap is [demonstrates]. That’s fine, but it’s not that interesting. One of my deaf friends who watched Quantum Leap years ago, he signs the show like QL. [demonstrates]. Q-L. QL. See? Very smooth, a bit lazy and more fun.

Sam is a vanilla guy, as some people say, and plain. So a generic name sign is fitting for him. S for Sam. [demonstrates]

Al wouldn’t be too keen on signing like Sam, so Sam would give him a name sign later, teasing him with it. [demonstrates] A like A, lust, because we know how Al is. Once Al catches on, he’d probably object. “Sam! Why did you do that?!” Then he’d insist on A-L because it’s easy for him to remember. But Sam would still whisper to other people about his teasing name sign.

You can tell from the beginning if someone’s going to be a good signer. Sam did well in the episode [Private Dancer] and he picked up a lot of signs, so I think he’d do well. Al? Oh hell no. His signing is very awkward. I think that’s the real reason why that deaf girl from MIT turned him down--she saw his signing and decided she didn’t want a lousy signer in her bed!

i noticed all the mistakes i made after ii was finished and rewatched the video!

at one point, i meant to sign "hearing friends dont understand my signing", i forgot to sign; "FRIENDS"!
