(Mid) May 2026 sketchdump! Trying to figure out what Asmodeus looks like for Avernus Recruitment, kinda wanted like a verteran/ ex-military look, but also like scary dad vibes whilst not making him look like Mephistopheles... I'm still undecided for his design.

I do have headcanons and actually started writing a post about them! Here is some of it, but behold - they’re dripping with sexual themes!

Mephistopheles desires to be worshipped by everyone - Asmodeus desires to control everyone.

For me, Asmodeus is asexual, maybe sapiosexual? He engages in sex for benefit; he lusts for domination. As a tyrant, he takes pleasure in manipulating or forcing others into submission, into becoming his playthings that he can control. But as genius and ancient as he is, seducing mortals is a boring task that he delegates to his subjects, while he focuses on greater goals/targets. It is extremely rare for him to grant mortals his attention, which is why he lets Mephistopheles manage his cultists, adding to the Cold Lord’s many distractions.

Mephistopheles, on the other hand… Is very horny and open-minded, but he does actually have a preference for females, due to his huge breeding kink. Of course, he enjoys overpowering his mates, but that is only part of his drive. He likes experiments by nature, so if someone would like to create a unique mixed race of devil blood, he’s the guy.  

Despite messing around and taking many mates himself, Mephistopheles is extremely jealous of Asmodeus and would like to have his Supreme all for himself. The mere thought of Asmodeus sharing intimate moments with someone else enrages him to no end. He would do everything to cock block Asmodeus by seducing the potential partner, or kill them if that was not an option. Hellfire everywhere.  

Asmodeus couldn’t care less about Mephistopheles’ trysts. Actually, he has a distinctive kink for voyeurism. He does, in fact, enjoy watching Mephistopheles having sex with others. For Asmodeus, it adds a sense of greater satisfaction when he tops someone as dominant as Mephistopheles. A power dynamic thing. Mephi is a daddy, but Asmo is the daddy of daddies.

For Mephistopheles, a great part of the arousal towards Asmodeus is the sense of being special for the Supreme. Asmodeus is very prudish with his attire, private, and extremely selective about who gets close to him. It is a privilege to get intimate with Asmodeus. It’s not that Asmodeus is physically so attractive to Mephistopheles. It's the fact that Mephistopheles gets to be the one who sees him nude and gets to play with his precious ruby rods. In a way, Mephistopheles witnesses Asmodeus in his most vulnerable moments, and that puts Mephistopheles on fire.

From time to time, Asmodeus adds some fuel to Mephistopheles’ jealousy by showing interest in courting others, simply because it really benefits him in many ways. Aside from the sexual possessiveness, he knows that Mephistopheles wouldn’t let anyone else defeat him or even get close to him, since Mephistopheles believes only he is destined to overthrow Asmodeus. This makes Mephistopheles a perfect gatekeeper to his realm, since his attention is constantly torn between keeping others away while also searching for a way to overpower Asmodeus. The Supreme knows that Mephistopheles doesn’t want to kill him, but possess him and all that is his. Rub his imaginary victory into his face and claim him as a trophy. But if Mephistopheles ever had a change of heart, Asmodeus knows that would put his position at greater risk. That’s why he perfectly doses the amount of affection and distance when dealing with Mephi, just to keep that jealous brat engaged in their love game.
