I randomly decided to make a video discussing my feelings on asmr role play, specifically the hype surrounding auralescent. If you actually listen to all ten minutes of this I love you.

Hey! Weird question perhaps but a few months ago you talked a tiny bit about asmr. Have you been watching/listening to it anymore? Any favorites?
ahh not weird at all! but to answer both of your questions, yes and yes! i watch an asmr video almost every single night now. i’ve struggled falling asleep and staying asleep my whole life. i was on a prescription sleep medication for a while that wasn’t doing anything for me really, and then about a year/year and a half ago i discovered that melatonin worked really well for me. the problem was that my body was becoming so adjusted to falling asleep with melatonin that it wasn’t working quite as well as it used to. so now i only take melatonin on days i open at work (because i have to be up at 4am). i needed something though to help on normal days and asmr has been a huge part of my life since.
now, as for favorite asmr-artists, here are some that i go to quite often:
Tingting ASMR
ASMR PPOMO
Slight Sounds ASMR
FrivolousFox ASMR
Karuna Satori ASMR

the thing with asmr is really just finding out which triggers work best for you and which ones absolutely do not. once you find that out about yourself, however, there is a whole world of videos out there to watch.
What’s your opinion of Ephemeral Rift both as a person and as an asmrist/youtuber?
I know Of him because i’ve followed the growth of the asmrtist community for so many years but I haven’t watched much of his videos.. so i definitely can’t say for sure what I think of him as a person.
In any other context i would be all over his videos, he clearly puts a LOT of time and care into his sets and props, but since I usually listen to/watch asmr while trying to relax or fall asleep, some of the creepy props and roleplay themes he uses aren’t really what I’m looking for. In general I’m not very into roleplay-style asmr videos, and I usually prefer women asmrtists.
but the production quality is so high—WAIT
OK while typing this I opened his channel in another tab; I forgot that he’s the one who made the Pineapple Relaxation video!!!
DUDE I used to listen to that on Spotify all the time! that was my go-to asmr audio for a little while! So i guess despite (or probably because of) his quirky asmr style, he does have something for almost everyone to enjoy lmao. good shit
