Along with Maureen, Dana is one of the most hated winners and unlike Maureen, I can see why she gets the hate. Now, ignoring her modeling ability, she was actually pretty strong in person. Her walk was one of the best of the bunch, especially in the finale runway, and I really like her chilled out persona. Plus, as someone with naturally sleepy eyes, I kinda rooted for her when the show started after how good Maureen was (in my opinion) but I was left disappointed. Unlike Maureen, who despite not having the best height or body of the group, was able to carry herself in everything else, she wasn’t able to carry herself with anything really. She wasn’t able to put any life in her face or do any decent poses, she often wasn’t able to mix one with the other actually. It was either a good face with a bad pose (snake, giants) or a decent enough pose with a bad face (family, both cars). It’s a shame that she wasn’t able to mix them both together, unlike Maureen who was able to mix both a good face and a good body to distract from possible sleepy eyes, but Maureen was able to put life into them, Dana never really bothered to. Often, her sleepy eyes were just apparent throughout and the judges never cared, often praising it when it doesn’t engaged the audience at all, it either puts them off or makes them not remember it, which sucks. It seems unfair when girls like Mia are always shitted on by Cindy and Pim who was hated by Yu Tsai when Dana can just go by no problem. It really ruined the cycle how they always praised her for frankly shit shots. The closest shot to mixing both a good face and pose was her frankly beautiful Estecia shot, but there were 2 other shots I liked more. Her peak was her last week when there were only 3 girls left, which kinda sucked as she’s the only winner so far in my rankings ever, including PNTM, that has never received a FCO. I think the worst part about her win was the background of it. Due to her rich father’s background and the fact that he works for the main sponsor for the series Subaru, people spectated that her dad paid the judges for her win, which makes a little bit of sense considering how she would be one of the more less successful winners of the show, how her models.com page has nothing and hasn’t been updated in a year, and how overall, most of the cast has overshadowed her in terms of success as she’s now focusing on acting. It’s a shame how her background and family has taken over her win, which in the end, let a bad end to an overall good series, with a at worst meh win and at best a “reasonable but there were about 6 other girls I would’ve been ok with” win. Dana was a good girl and I liked her but the bullying to her is just bullcrap when it’s all the producers’ fault for it, not hers and it’s ruined her modeling career since she’s moved on to acting. She was a chilled out girl and her look was great but compared to a cast with Beauty, Pim, Jachin, Mia, and Adela, it doesn’t really make sense how she was able to beat them all to the end and shows how favoritism can ruin a series and a girl’s career in the end.
