With memories of the previous horrors still likely fresh in the other's mind, Kaiden finds it perfectly reasonable for trust to be negligible, so despite appearing cruel, cold, and perhaps even detached--- ( which only made worse by visionless eyes refusing to make contact with the other's form ) --- he is being KIND for a vampire ; HOLDING his fledglings very first pray by the nape of their neck so they cannot move.

He had even gagged them to make sure they wouldn't scream in hopes of making the impossible decision EASIER for the one he's shared his cursed blood with.

Heading up the long stairwell with heavy thumping footsteps, Nagisa immediately took notice of the woman looking around frantically at her doormat.  Though the sound of him approaching made her stop in her tracks almost immediately. 

“Hm? Ah-no....I haven’t.” He said with sympathy in his voice as he began looking behind him scanning the area as an attempt to help out the poor girl. “Hmmm..I'm sure it’s around here somewhere! Did'cha back track all your steps? Check your car and all that? If not, I can help you find it. I don’t mind~”

He said with a tired smile. It was a brutal day at work and he was really craving a nap. Oh.. to sink under his fluffy, newly washed comforter.. Funnily enough, he had no idea the girl was wanting one too and equally as tired.. or maybe even more so.“Because I'd hate to have you pay for another key. The price for a new key here…8,000 yen. Sooooo dumb..” He pouts, as he’s obviously telling on himself that he has been in a situation like this before or at least thoroughly went over the policies here.

This whole fiasco should never be a big deal. But Aito, his best friend since that first day at the dorms, since that first day at orientation week, has always had a knack of making things bigger than they should be. Something about a dramatic flair.

Yes, he'd been cold - always appeared cold, always spoke with a silver tongue that does not permit anyone to simply know him - this is the trait he shares with some family members after all - and Aito, for all the years they've been friends - the bestest of friends, and Shin does not have many that he knows intimately - has earned a softness he rarely permits anyone to see.

"You've been doing that thing. That thing you do when you're like, stressed." Stressed is an understatement - they're two graduate students in STEM, each with their own niche specialties and interest and still find themselves either the dumbest and fun duo anyone has ever encountered, or the smartest pair whose researches do not exactly always overlap.

             A bottomless pit had opened up in his stomach upon receiving that briefing on recent events. A pit that made the air tremble in motion with every step; every breath that he took chilled the air more and more until it could barely be considered summer. He thought he had felt a hand of one of guards reach out to him, only to be flung backwards? Perhaps. He didn’t know. He didn’t care. All that mattered now was--

                The eye of that great and terrible beast had opened its eyes once more. He heard it growl (or was that him?). He felt it shudder in anticipation as he walked closer and closer towards the battleground that they sought. It didn’t matter to him how many there were: guards, nobleman, it made no difference. If they stood in his way, he’d--

                   ”What do you think would have happened if I hadn’t recognized you?” His foolish child; his brave and fearless pride and joy. No, even that beast wouldn’t lay a finger on something he (they) cherished so dearly. “Rem, move out of my way. I have business to take care of.” 

                                      But that did not change what he they had to do.

『🔧』 Idiot. Idiot, idiot, idiot. What was that?!

There was no possible excuse she could make for herself here. The only correct thing she could possibly think to do was to play it off, to tell her it meant nothing, that she just got carried away. Hey, just chill out about it, it didn’t have to mean anything between them. It didn’t mean anything. Let’s just carry on. But, who was she kidding? Lying never was her strong suit - and in the silence that flooded the room in the instant following the parting of their lips, every blush and blemish on her face, that unique spark in her firelike eyes  A traitorous testament to her true feelings, laid bare for her to gaze at. The only thing that wasn’t totally bare was Leah, which was a damn shame.

She expected anything else but what she got. A ‘get out’, or a ‘forget it’, or maybe even a ‘don’t come around here any more’. A brain once focused only on the sweet and simple pleasures that they shared in on these bedsheets together now plagued itself with the potential for catastrophe; yet, all of it dispersed with her words. An invitation.

Any protest she might have wanted to form fails to escape her - half-formed utterances of hesitation; “Um, well-... y- you’re not- I mean... we can, uh-”

See? It worked out after all. You’d be a fool to turn her down. You already have the perfect words to say in this situation.

“... ah, fuck it.”

The next instant crawls by at a snail’s pace the second she presses her lips to Leah’s again. Gingerly, her eyelids close, she embraces the warmth welling in her chest, as she wanted to just moments before. Each hand finds its place on her sides, just near the middle of her chest - inching her body closer and closer, and the tongue that slips ever so slightly, ever so gently across her lips speaks of the greed, the want behind what she was doing; all of this punctuated with the gentle pressure of teeth to her bottom lip as she pulls away.

She doesn’t even want to open her eyes. Not even she knows if it’s out of anticipation, or out of fear that she relents; all she can do is remain close... and wait.
