While searching for something on my computer, I stumbled upon this old recording of On The Joys of Hand Holding and the Woes of Kissing, which is the first part of “The Mysteries, Joys, & Woes of Hand Holding and of Kissing” by @lastnightfanfictionsavedmylife. @goodqueenkaro recorded this back in late 2020 when I first tried to start ASOFAF.

I love this recording as much now as I did back then because not only is it a cute ficlet and well read, but to me it showcases how anyone can participate in A Song of Fan and Fiction. It is abundantly clear that GoodQueenKaro does not natively speak English, and that does not detract from the story at all. I would argue the accent enhances it. It brings extra vibrancy and character to these characters that we know and love. And with sharing this story in this format, I hope it encourages other non-native English speakers, who might have prior to this episode have been discouraged in participating because of their accent, to take the plunge and reach out. There is no judgement here, only love and acceptance. And someday, maybe we’ll start featuring non-English fics.

Note: GoodQueenKaro is not our first non-native English speaking Singer for ASOFAF. SlatesOwl is from Germany and actively records for this project. Likewise, AzraelGFG is a native German-speaking Hero who features a lot here.

In a delayed due-to-life-and-work release, LittleWolfBird presents “Season 2” of A Song of Fan and Fiction. year two gets kicked off with seventy-six, and counting, sansan fic author @azraelgfg (AO3). Azreal’s first featured fic is Braiding a Relationship, a fun one-shot wherein Sandor needs to learn how to braid his daughter’s hair so that she won’t be picked on at school. He finds a class and meets and reconnects with an old crush.

A Song of Fan and Fiction supports and believes in human rights. Trans lives, black lives, indigenous lives, women’s lives, the lives of those with disabilities, immigrant lives, and the lives of everyone else in the long list of people under attack, all matter. YOU matter. You matter to me and I hope that through ASOFAF, you can find some respite to refuel your soul and continue on. I hope that I can personally be your ally and fight along side you to eradicate the hate that we face. In this house, Nazi’s and fascism are not welcome. This week, A Song of Fan and Fiction returns to @hollandoodle's world of Do You Like What You See?

In part one, Sansa and Sandor have sought refuge in an inn during a storm on their journey north after their escape from King’s Landing during the Battle of the Blackwater. Through memories of the journey and realizing that she is attracted to her non-knight and he is just as attracted to her, Sansa does not want to be used as a pawn. She decides that she will offer herself to Sandor for marriage in exchange for his protection. Hollandoodle doesn’t leave us high and dry though; our two favorites begin to explore each other’s bodies in the corner of the common room, mirroring the actions of another patron and a prostitute.

Hollandoodle herself has warned us this episode to read, and listen in this case, with a fan and a glass of ice water. In Part 2, Sandor is contemplating everything that Sansa has said and offered. Every reason he can think of for him to be a bad choice for her, she could easily turn into a positive. After a brief break apart, for Sandor to check on Stranger, they come back together for more explorations and ecstasy - for both partners - from their balcony, potentially on view for the whole of the common room before moving to their room to try other things.
