A Series of Unfortunate Events OC Intros
Okay here's another new fandom! I've been a huge fan of the books for years and I absolutely loved the show when it came out, I've been sitting on these ideas for over a year now but it's finally time to unleash them! (tagging @rose-of-oz)
Marlene Bergman (Emma Stone FC), Count Olaf ship. Initially of the fire-preventing side of the VFD, Marlene decided to use her penchant for disguises and acting to try to join Count Olaf's theatre troupe under the cover of defecting in order to stop his terrible deeds. But as time passed, as she was with the others and Olaf himself, she starts wondering if she was truly on the right side for her. She's falling for him and his humor quick, and has all but cut contact with the fire-prevention allies she had, which makes it complicated when Beatrice and Bertrand die and Olaf has a plan for their fortune.
Octavia Quagmire (India Eisley FC), Irene Barr ship. Octavia was the oldest Quagmire sibling, and as such she got to learn a little more than her siblings. She learned of the VFD, except unfortunately that's all she got to know, the night her training was supposed to start, her home was set on fire and her parents lost their lives. Her and her siblings lost their brother Quigley and their fortune was under the care of Esmé Squalor until she was of age, so they were sent to Prufrock Preparatory School. Classes and living in a shack were difficult but she had Isadora and Duncan to focus on. And, a very pretty girl in her class named Irene. So when new orphans come to the school and they're out the shack, she's not prepared for the VFD related adventure that comes with the Baudelaire's.
Irene Barr (Emily Alyn Lind FC), Octavia Quagmire ship. Irene doesn't really remember her parents, not since she volunteered for the VFD. She uttered the phrase, she was of interest, and that was that. But she's glad to be doing noble work with the organization, and her age helps her in the many scenarios where people underestimate children and their knowledge, even if she's still only supposed to be an apprentice to Jacques Snicket. But when the Quagmire's die in a fire, she's placed at Prufrock Prep to help them, she wasn't expecting the older Quagmire child, but Irene definitely isn't complaining. Then when the Baudelaire children also make their way there? Her assignment gets that much more important.
Esther Baudelaire (Thomasin McKenzie FC), TBD ship. Esther loved her family, she loved Briny Beach when it was cloudy and empty, and she loved her music. But one day, when their parents sent her and her younger siblings to the beach for their own projects, their days get worse with the arrival of Mr. Poe from the bank. Their parents died, and Esther felt like she was suddenly having to be the stability that Violet, Klaus, and Sunny need. Things should be okay with their new guardian though, she trusts her parents and surely this Count Olaf can't be that bad, right?
Reeve Snicket (Freddy Carter FC), Blythe Strauss ship. Reeve has always known the VFD, him and his siblings were all volunteers, all noble people who know the meaning of literature and helping others. He may have been the youngest Snicket, but he was eager to prove himself when he was young. Then, his older brother Lemony is on the run, and while many presume him dead but he is sure he's not. Even if the codes and letters he writes don't work. Reeve distances himself a little from the organization, keeping tabs but focusing on his own mission of finding his brother to help him, which somehow leads him right into the Baudelaire's misfortune and crossing paths with a court justice's niece.
Blythe Strauss (Willa Fitzgerald FC), Reeve Snicket ship. Blythe knew her aunt always wanted children, it's why she spent so many summers visiting her growing up, that and her extensive library that she enjoyed pouring over. It's why she's glad when her aunt tells her about the children she met that's living with her neighbor Count Olaf but seemed eager to visit the library and see her. Except when things start seeming odd with the man, nothing is worse than when he attempts to marry Violet for their fortune. Her aunt may feel that her hands are tied by the justice system, but Blythe isn't a lawyer yet, so she takes an investigation and chase in her own hands after hearing another guardian of theirs died. Through this she learns of an organization, and meets one of its members.
Vivienne Nightingale (Anne Hathaway FC), Jacques Snicket ship. Vivienne had been part of the VFD for as long as she can remember, it's her pride and joy to be noble and help put out literal and figurative fires. She may have had the blemish of a short lived marriage to one Count Olaf, but other than that she has a reputation for being one of their most noble members, a former Madame Lulu, and she enjoys her life. But for reasons unknown to all, she vanished some years ago. No one knows what happened to her, until the Baudelaire's need help and a strange woman helps them. Vivienne is brought back into the fold and into a taxi.
Roxanne Gillies (Sophia Bush FC), Lemony Snicket ship. Roxanne was not in the VFD, her brother was, and she spent many years looking for him. But Roxanne was never deemed interesting enough for the organization, an organization she grew to know all too much about through learning and investigating and listening. Then she ran into a man. Multiple times. Which to an average person may be coincidence or perhaps fear, but to Roxanne felt more important. So she did what she's become best at over the years, and she watched and waited. Lemony was the man, and he was on the run and involved with the very organization she was searching for.
Wilbur Heathcliff (Andrew Garfield FC), Hugo Wystan ship. Wilbur was a good friend of Bertrand and Beatrice through the VFD, he's been there with many of their adventures and assignments and he was even close with the Snickets. He traveled a lot for the organization, putting out fires where needed, and that is where he was when the Baudelaire's perished. He was on the list, first in fact as he was both close with them and lived the closest, but with Count Olaf taking his spot it was hard to convince the bank he was supposed to take in the Baudelaire children when they were so blinded by the lies. But he kept trying, continuously just late to where Violet, Klaus, and Sunny were, until the Village of Fowl Devotees.
Hugo Wystan (Jonathan Bailey FC), Wilbur Heathcliff ship. While many VFD volunteers truly believed in their work and organization, Hugo was not one of them. He questioned a lot, but he apparently was asking all the wrong questions. It's how he ended up aligning more with the fire-starting side, even if he didn't quite believe in them either, and having numerous run ins with Wilbur Heathcliff all over the world. But when his acquaintance Esmé tells him to meet her and her boyfriend in a village for some fortune, he shows up. And once again runs into the man that keeps trying to answer the right questions.
