Asphodelberry is an extremely competent warrior, selected by the previous deputy herself upon retirement. But this doesn't stop the Clan from whispers of nepotism- both the leader and the deputy are daughters of the medicine cat, meaning one family leads all of TalusClan.
She tries not to let the suspicions get to her, and for the most part she succeeds. Asphodelberry plays a major part in the education and training of the Clan, running programs for the apprentices and closely monitoring them for necessary changes. She helps Cormorantnose with the more memory-based parts of training her apprentice, Slugpaw. Asphodelberry's own apprentices- Skipperclaw and Gorseface- are warriors by now, but she remains close with each of them. She's antsy to get her next apprentice, missing the direct paws-on nature of being a mentor instead of just a deputy.
Asphodelberry loves her sisters and mother fiercely, willing to go to the ends of the earth for them. She wonders what it would have been like to have littermates.
Since her apprentice days, Asphodelberry has grappled with depression. As an adult she's aware that it's something medical and has a vague idea of how to keep it at bay, but she worries (and has resigned herself to the idea) that it will never truly go away, and that she'll be walking through this haze forever.
