Harlan KY Poke Sallet Festival
While volunteers are arriving a week from now, we still are finding time for fun! Last night we drove to Harlan, KY for a fair. It was a lot of fun filled with junk food, air brush tattoos, some probably not so safe carnival rides, a petting zoo, laser tag and concert! It was good way to let off some steam as a staff and experience a different county!
One of those times where I forget all the rough stuff, like soup bar Sunday (no shade) and waking up at 5am every single day, and just miss it. So proud of the staffs who were commissioned today, and sent off to their counties! Cannot wait to see you (/God) do incredible things. #asphome #asptricities #RIPtricities #aspwatauga #aspletcher #tbt
From the Cumberland Gap to 'JONESVILLE CENTER, LEE COUNTY'
Nestled in between the Cumberland Gap and Johnson City, TN is a beautiful small town population 995 in southern Virginia. I am so happy (AND EXCITED) to announce that I will be serving at the year round center in Jonesville as a Volunteer Coordinator. As I start on this journey, I am incredibly blessed for the strong support system around me. Currently, our training is in Jonesville so when all the other crews are headed out to their counties on May 28th, the five of us will be waving goodbye and good luck from the porch! If you have a Facebook, please 'like' the ASP Jonesville Facebook page to follow updates about my fellowship with our community and volunteers and to see pictures of the amazing construction work being done! (( link: https://www.facebook.com/ASPJonesville )) For those who didn't know, I am heading home from orientation for Ricky's cousins wedding and my graduation party. Expect another post very soon after the weekend! Peace and Love.
