Luke was feeling a little homesick on the most recent tour. It was the first one you weren’t able to join him on. Your job was too busy to be able to leave. Luke understood, but that didn’t stop him from missing you every single day.
You had come up with a plan to surprise him. You would fly out, one of the crew members would pick you up at the airport and bring you to the venue and you’d be backstage waiting for him when the set ended.
It would have worked out perfectly if you hadn’t gotten too excited and decided to stand in the wings and watch him perform. He was in his element, no sign of homesickness anywhere. He was putting on the best show of his life, giving his all for the fans. He spotted you during Calum’s talking bit and was quick to make his way to you, practically ripping his guitar off when he got to you.
As sweaty as he was, you didn’t mind the tight hug he had given you.
“God, I missed you so much,” he mumbled into your shoulder, burying his head there.
“I missed you too,” you whispered. You could hear the screaming fans and the bands teasing words, but none of that mattered. All that mattered was you were with Luke now, and you never wanted to let him go.
