in the process of working on our modern au, we’ve slowly come to the decision that asra minus the trauma of losing a loved one to magical amnesia and spending years filled with frustration and self-loathing trying to fix said amnesia has two settings: ultra-uber-chill, no shirt thick socks sweatpants nap king, and punmaster practical joke memelord. also he probably has a tumblr where he’s famous for epic shitposts and for being the dude with a million weird and hilarious roommates.

that hogwarts au amiright (pt 1)

@asras-apprentice‘s nymeria and my kezia exist in the same universe, and therefore all their content involves the other. so this is for BOTH of them.

stay tuned for future bits about the arcana canon characters as well as more about nym and kezia’s shenanigans

both nymeria and kezia are gryffindors (nymeria was given a choice between ravenclaw and gryffindor, and kezia would also fit easily into slytherin)

kezia was sorted first (so i guess his last name that we don’t know yet is before nym’s last name that we don’t know yet, alphabetically), and his placement was nymeria’s primary reasoning for choosing gryffindor (as well as an internal [and MISPLACED] feeling of inferiority to the table of brilliant ravenclaws)

both of them are satisfied with the house they’re in, but the first time nymeria sees asra, who’s a few years above them and in ravenclaw, she immediately expresses a desire to be resorted. kezia cuffs her in the back of the head.

kezia has no sense of inter-house rivalry. he talks to everyone and anyone (and uh. sleeps with any boy and every boy.)

kezia’s favorite subject is divination- he was superstitious already, and before he found out the father he’d never met had been a wizard (and that he’d inherited that particular trait) he had already been well-versed in muggle astrology. however, his best subject is potions. he forever leaves professors despairing- he only ever uses his gift to craft perfumes, hair products, and magical makeup.

nymeria’s favorite subject is care of magical creatures- she was good with animals even before hogwarts, and it’s something that requires very little magic, so she doesn’t have a chance to be insecure about her skill. after gaining some confidence in herself, she also has a proclivity for defense against the dark arts and makes a very competent duelist.

nym’s a bit of a bookworm, and though kezia is less fond of research, he is fond of nymeria. so they spend a lot of time in the library. nym reads and kezia draws on scrap parchment and throws charmed paper dragons and airplanes and generally makes a nuisance of himself.

kezia wears a glamoured glitter highlighter that glints on his cheekbones every time he turns his head, regardless of the quality of the lighting. he likes the attention he gets as people stare at him and try to figure out why he’s sparkling in his potions class in the dungeons.

again because he just loves attention, kezia wears perfume of his own design, based off of the formula for amortentia. he always smells like everyone’s favorite flower.

considering that their cultural significance is lost in magical london, hogwarts!nymeria lacks her distinctive tattoos. weird right.

(she does get them later as an adult for the Aesthetic)

however, she does maintain her many piercings. most of the ones professors disapprove of can go invisible for when she’s in class.

6: How my muse would act if they’re in love.

Kezia doesn’t noticeably change when he’s in love- at least, not in front of anyone else. He’s a person who is, in general, very focused on public appearance. He’d maintain the same devil-may-care, playboy attitude that he always does. He’d still tease him relentlessly. PDA is a given, but rarely innocently. He’d make out with his boyfriend in front of people just to see them stare, but holding hands in public is an alien and blush-inducing concept to him. The only exception is if it embarrassed his boyfriend more than him (like with Julian). Then it becomes teasing, and it’s fair game.

In private, however… When Kezia’s in love, and trusts that it’s returned, he doesn’t feel a need for masks when it’s just the two of them. Which means he would soften- his smile would be gentler, his voice quieter, his words more genuine. He’d be tender and even sweet. He’s good at expressing his feelings, verbally and physically, when they’re alone. As such, no matter how he would seem in public, his lover would never doubt the depth of his adoration- Kezia shows him every time the door closes behind them.

Musical theatre. But don’t tell anyone who’d make fun of it, or he’ll gut you.

Kezia doesn’t have any scars. He dislikes most physical activity that might result in injury, and he’d not prone to fistfights. He verbally eviscerates his enemies instead.

@asras-apprentice‘s Nymeria is the one with all the scars. She’s punched a lot of people in her lifetime. Unfortunately, lots of them have punched back.

If it’s Nym, he hisses and winces and then probably laughs even harder. He definitely was laughing beforehand, since she only punches him when he’s being a shit. 

If it’s not Nymeria, and they mean to hurt him, he yells FOR Nymeria. At that point it’s escalated out of his control and he doesn’t fight people, so it’s Nym’s turn lmao
