In honor for the au that introduced me into undertale! (Edit: god I need to improve (I rushed on this one))
(thank you @susartwork for helping me design Fear!Frisk! It means a lot!)
Consider the Qna for feartale opened, Don't keep me waiting if you have a question to ask.
The following post is a bunch of notes, ideas, and theme's I've seen in Deltarune. None of this is really a concrete theory but I will post a small one I've got after this.
Okay. So the amount of times the actual DELTA RUNE pops in in the game is suprising. I want. To talk about it.
In Hometown:
The first of the rune we see is all over Toriels' House. It's on the carpet in Kris' room and two outside their house. Now you may have noticed the difference in the one above the door, not only does it have a set of whispy wings, but it's deltas are different. Instead of two pointing up and one pointing down they're flipped the other way around.
Then again we see a rune on the door of the school, possibly because of the Dremurrs association with the school. It could also be a reference to how the Christian cross if often built on doors due to old superstitions considering we'll see more on doors later.
Continuing with the religious implications, there's the 'angel' symbol on top of the church steeple. The way the steeple is built with triangles makes it look like a complete rune. And again we see an angel until of the gate to the graveyard.
In the Darkworld(s):
The first thing we see when we walk in are the symbols all across the floor of Ralsies' Castle and another above the door inside. Then he tells us the legend which has a whopping 4 more. One of which showing us there's a symbol on the top os his castle. Speaking of his castle, there's another on the great door that he suspiciously closes with a thematic thud.
Again we see one of the puzzle door that Susie tries to break down (a metaphor for her reluctance mayhaps?). From this point we don't see any until the very end of chapter one where the rune is hanging over the entrance to the fountain. Though I thought I would note that the spade symbol in the throne room ironically has a symbol like the delta across it.
There's only one new rune in chapter two. (Instead we get a plethora of references to angels and heaven.) In castle town we see it in on the carpet of Kris' room in the darkworld. Interestingly, the deltas on it are colored for Susie, Kris, and Ralsei respectively. The angle is a white/ very light blue which out of every character so far could to be colored after Noelle.
And now a list of themes that have shown up so far.
(Religious)
-It's implied Toriel and Asreil are religious due to the book of hymns and their attendance to church. Kris is implied to have gone to church before as well.
-The Holiday's are also referenced to go to church
-The DELTA RUNE has its own religious implications. Both in hometown and in the darkworlds.
-Ralsei seems to hold the Lightener's in very high regard and the King even says he worships them, which may not be to far from the truth.
-Ralsei also tells Lancer that serving Lighteners is Darknener's purpose.
-Seam calls the Lightener's gods.
-The King calls Kris "Lightbringer" in battle after you try to talk with him. This is interesting as the fallen angel Lucifer from the christian/catholic bible is also called this. Surprised I haven't seen anyone else talk about such a direct reference.
-The amount that apples are referenced as in christainty they're linked with original sin and knowledge.
-Rasleis castle being chock full of angels wings.
-Literally Spamtons' whole deal. After his life was falling apart he took to prayer, and when we see him again and later fight him he's obsessed with ascending above "heaven". He even says he's "becoming god" in the Weird Route.
-Every single time Noelle is referenced as a angel.
-The Thorn Ring, similar to the wreath of thorns worn by Jesus in the bible. Both in that they're made if thorns and that they do damage to the wearer.
-Noelle being hung from the hand at the end of the Normal Route like Jesus from the cross in the bible.
-When Noelle says she would jump from the ferris wheel and grown wings- like an angel.
(The number three)
-There are three heros in the prophecy.
-There are three delta symbols on the DELTA RUNE, each with three sides.
-There are three save files in each chapter.
-You can only have three people in your party in battle, and only three enemies fighting against you. (As of now.)
-Each of your party members can equip three things, a weapon and two pieces of armor.
-Seam has three pupils/holes on his eye.
-Clover as three heads, three personalities, and three favorite topics.
-Likewise, Sweet Cap and Cakes is a trio.
-When Ralsei talks about The Roaring there are three Titans on screen. (Which by the way, the middle one has eyes from the place you start in chapter one and looks oddly like Seam.)
(Blood)
-Possibly blood on the carpet of Kris' room.
-Lancer knows what blood is, implying Darkener's bleed.
-Susie says "Everyone Bleeds" despite the fact we've yet to see a monster bleed in Deltarune. Is it simply a metaphor and not literal or do monster really bleed?
-More on monsters and blood, an NPC behind a door ask Kris what it's like to be full of blood. Do monsters have blood but simply aren't full of it?
-Kris played a prank on Noelle when they were young pretending they were bleeding.
-The Heart Donut is full of blood or at least jelly that looks like blood, it's unclear.
-Susie says she likes blood and guts.
(Abuse/Neglect/Trauma)
-Susie is implied multiple times to have a rough life at home. She wears baggy old clothes, snacks on chalk and moss, thinks poorly of dads, and doesn't call her parent's in chapter two.
-Likely because of this, she acts out in school she doesn't get along with other kids and everyone thinks she's a troublemaker.
-Noelles' sister is missing in an incident that clearly scarred her. Her father is the hospital fighting a illness and her mother is so hard on her even Rudy notices. She would rather wait outside her house than ask her mother for the keys inside because of her mothers reactions.
-Generally Noelle seems nervous, clumsy, has trouble speaking up and seems to put herself down. It's unclear if this is just how she is or because of her homelife.
-The same incident with Dess seems to have been part of the reason Kris and Noelle drifted apart. It likely effected Kris too.
-Toriel and Asgore are divorced and such things can have negative effects on kids. It seems the family drifted apart but according to Q.C. Asreil and Kris still hung out together when their parent's did not.
-Through all the information about Asreil he seems to slot right in as the golden child of the household. The entire town loves him and his side of the room is covered in trophies. But what about Kris? They're constantly under his shadow. Despite this, they still talk to him online and seem to miss him.
-Kris has a hard time making friend's. They also don't speak often.
-Moreover they show a nervousness around the bunker, and from the dialogue we get from Snowy and MK it seems something happened there.
-Kris also shows is distaste/anxiety around other humans. In their childhood it seems they wish they were a monster like their family. They're different form the rest of the town, the only human.
-Kris seems to breakdown after the Spamton NEO Fight in the Normal Route.
-I'm sure pulling your soul out of your body can't be easy either.
-That's not even mentioning the weird ass relationship between Noelle and the player in the Weird Route/Snowgrave.
Let me know if I missed anything or got anything wrong, and feel free tell to me what you think.
holy fluffy bois
this is a line from the werewerewire fight if you get ralsei to be sweet after kris and susie are tough.
demurely.
that sounds vaugely familiar.

An Error’s Journey
Chapter 1
Previous - First - Next
The universe and its sciences have always been a finicky thing. Laws discovered and written down. Certain rules set in place. Despite the world of magic that he lives in, even possessing magic of his own, there’s a uniqueness to logic and how it manages to touch everything.
As a living and walking skeleton, he lives off magic, yet, he has his limits. There’s a logic behind popping his bones out of his sockets. Logic behind a broken bone. Logic behind the eyelights that he has instead of the standard eyeballs that most have.
Although, when he met another version of himself, logic had been metaphorically thrown out his lab window.
Toriel: YOU LYING, CHEATER!!!
Asgore: YEAH? WELL WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD WHERE NOT EVERYTHING IS ALL SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS!!!
Toriel: IM TAKING CHARA AND ASREIL AND LEAVING!
Chara: *picks up monopoly board* okaaaaaayyyyy i think that’s enough of this game!
Some Nights
Some Nights is a comic about the post-pacifist life of Toriel. Each chapter will take place over a sleepless night spent with a family member as they tackle their issues of lonliness, regret, and what it is like to move on.
